Its drop source is disputed: the guide names Houndmaster Grebmar in Blackrock Depths, while the item page’s Phase 3 table lists High Interrogator Gerstahn.

Wowhead identifies Blackveil Cape as item 11626, an item-level 53 bind-on-pickup back item. It requires character level 48 and has these listed properties:

Where does Blackveil Cape drop?
The source listings conflict. Wowhead’s Season of Discovery Phase 3 Rogue DPS guide names Houndmaster Grebmar in Blackrock Depths as the source. The item page’s Season of Discovery Phase 3 loot table instead displays High Interrogator Gerstahn, also in Blackrock Depths.
A user comment on the item page says Blackveil Cape drops from Grebmar and Spritecaster Cape drops from Gerstahn, suggesting the two entries may have been swapped. That comment is not authoritative confirmation, so the available listings do not settle the discrepancy. If you are targeting the cape, check the current in-game loot or an updated source rather than treating either listing as certain.

Is Blackveil Cape worth pursuing?
For Rogue DPS in Season of Discovery Phase 3, Wowhead’s guide describes Blackveil Cape as a good pre-raid cloak and ranks Panther Fur Cloak as the best cloak in that comparison. This is a class- and phase-specific recommendation, not a universal ranking for every character or later phase.
