What is Blood Message?
Blood Message is an upcoming single-player action-adventure from NetEase Games, developed with 24 Entertainment Lin’an Studio. NetEase announced the game on June 19, 2025, describing it as a cinematic, third-person, linear story-driven experience in development for PC and consoles. It is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and enhanced with the studio’s proprietary tools and technologies, according to the publisher.
NetEase Executive Vice President and Lead Producer Zhipeng Hu called it the company’s first completely single-player-focused experience. The publisher’s description of the genre, story, and features reflects announced plans; it is not an independent assessment of a finished game.
What is Blood Message about?
The story takes place in 848 AD, in the final years of China’s Tang Dynasty. Players follow a nameless messenger and his young son as an uprising in Dunhuang, also called Shazhou, puts them on a dangerous eastward journey. Their goal is to deliver a message and reach Chang’an.

NetEase describes the route as 3,000 li, or around 1,000 miles. The publisher frames the story around loyalty, family, duty, honor, sacrifice, and cultural identity.
What gameplay has NetEase announced?
NetEase describes Blood Message as a linear, narrative-driven adventure combining cinematic storytelling with third-person action. Announced design features include combat that blends stealth and survival mechanics, dangerous terrain, sieges, and landscapes inspired by East and Central Asia.
The official news index lists a 19-minute gameplay walkthrough dated June 7, 2026, and says the footage was captured from an early game build. The index also lists a story-intro post dated June 6, 2026. Early-build footage shows material from development; it does not establish what the final game will include or how it will perform.

Is Blood Message released, and when does it come out?
As of NetEase’s June 5, 2026 announcement, Blood Message was still in development. The official news index contains later June 2026 materials, but the sources available do not establish a subsequent release-date announcement. NetEase has not confirmed a launch date or release window.
What platforms will Blood Message be on?
NetEase has announced development for PC and consoles, but has not named specific console platforms. That broad wording does not confirm availability on any particular console, nor does it establish storefront listings, preorders, or a retail edition.
