It is not a Sony PC release, and the project is experimental: it requires your own dump of the PS4 game, and a full playthrough has not been verified.
Is Bloodborne on PC?
Not as an official Windows game. Sony’s official US product page lists Bloodborne as a PS4 title. The community project bbport makes the PS4 game build run on x86-64 Linux PCs and Steam Deck, but it is not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment, FromSoftware, or AMD.

bbport is built for Bloodborne PS4 build CUSA03173, version 1.09. The project describes it as a game-specific runtime, not a general-purpose emulator: the game’s x86-64 code runs on the PC CPU, a custom runtime replaces PS4 system libraries, and a Vulkan renderer derived from shadPS4 handles graphics.
What you need to play
- A Linux PC or Steam Deck.
- Your own dump of Bloodborne for PS4, specifically CUSA03173, version 1.09. The project states, “No game files are included. You need your own dump of Bloodborne (CUSA03173, v1.09).”
- A compatible graphics setup. Compatibility varies, and the project warns that crashes and stability problems remain.
Buying a PS4 disc does not provide a ready-to-run PC copy. The project requires users to supply their own game dump; it does not bundle the game or provide the files.

- Bloodborne Game of The Year
- If Bloodborne needs to be summed up, then the prevalent themes would be: exploring the fearsome unknown, intense life-and-death battles, and a familiar yet uniquely new online experience
- From the makers of the infamous Souls series, From Software's PS4 exclusive will attempt to take the tried and tested formula of giving players a sense of achievement to the next stage - especially when Miyazaki, the original creator of the Souls series is back at the helm
- What is promised is a harrowing experience like no other, and fans of tension, discovery, and straight up fun will sure to be excited to play Bloodborne
- If you have played the previous Souls games, then this one is a definite must buy
How playable is the Linux version?
The maintainers label bbport “experimental, playable.” They report that it boots, loads saves, and runs through the Hunter’s Dream and several areas of Yharnam with sound, gamepad support, and saving. They have not verified a complete playthrough, so “playable” should not be read as a guarantee that the game can be finished reliably.
Testing is limited. The README says one Linux PC with an AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT and Mesa/RADV was tested thoroughly; project documentation also discusses Steam Deck testing. The maintainers warn of crashes and say the newer PC-style memory model is experimental and does not work properly on NVIDIA GPUs, which use the older model.

Project-reported performance figures
The October 6, 2026 release notes include the following maintainer-reported measurements. They are not independent benchmarks and should not be treated as expected results on other hardware:
- During 13 minutes of teleporting, reported VRAM use changed from 3.8–7.3 GB before memory-management changes to 4–5.5 GB afterward.
- In Yahar’gul, the project reported 144 FPS with the old memory model and 152–155 FPS with the new one. The notes say the new model was tested on the author’s RX 7800 XT and a Steam Deck.
The same release notes recommend FSR 3 and 1280×720 output on Steam Deck. For NVIDIA, they recommend FSR 3 with the new memory model disabled. The notes also document GPU hangs and other remaining stability issues; these are project-maintainer recommendations, not independently verified compatibility guidance.

What about the Windows port?
A separate Windows-focused fork is still a work in progress. Its README says the loader, runtime, and renderer build and reach game initialization—including threads, memory allocation, audio, and shader compilation—but do not yet reach the first frame. At the status described by the project, Linux bbport or Steam Deck is the route for people who want to try playing now. Windows support may change as development continues.
| Route | Status described by the project | Platform | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Upstream bbport | Experimental, playable | Linux PC and Steam Deck | Several areas and saves are reported working; full completion is unverified, and hardware compatibility varies. |
| Windows-focused fork | Work in progress; has not reached the first frame | Windows | Initialization work is reported, but it is not yet described as playable. |
What “available” means
There is a community-built way to run a specific PS4 Bloodborne build on Linux, including Steam Deck, but there is no official Sony Windows edition in the sources cited here. The Linux project is experimental and depends on files supplied by the user. Anyone expecting a conventional PC release—with included game files, broad hardware support, and a verified full campaign—should not mistake this project for one.
