Xbox CEO Asha Sharma reportedly described Gen-10 as a “family of devices,” with a console first and recognition that “many players will be on the go.” The remarks point to a broader, console-first hardware plan, but they do not confirm a Project Helix handheld or name any partner.
What Xbox reportedly said about Project Helix
Windows Central reports that Sharma made the comments at an internal Xbox town hall. The outlet says it received the transcript and verified it with sources; the wording has not been independently checked against a publicly available Microsoft transcript. Windows Central’s account of the town hall presents the remarks as plans still developing, rather than a complete consumer hardware announcement.
As reported by Windows Central, Sharma said: “We are moving to a family of devices for Gen-10. There is not one device that fits all. We will certainly have a great console first, but we also know that many players will be on the go. There are some things that we are the best in the world to manufacture, and there are other things that will we partner on. So, we will be sharing more about that as our plans develop. The operating system is starting to look really good. We’re very excited about this.”
What “family of devices” establishes—and what it does not
The reported wording gives a few meaningful signals, but not a product lineup:

- Gen-10 is being framed as more than one device. Sharma reportedly said there is not one device that fits everyone.
- A console is first in the stated plan. That is the clearest hardware priority in the remarks.
- Xbox recognizes players who game on the go. The phrase does not, on its own, announce a handheld or specify how Xbox plans to serve those players.
- Microsoft expects a mix of manufacturing approaches. Sharma reportedly said some things would be made by Xbox and others handled with partners, but named no partner or device type.
In its coverage of the remarks, Pure Xbox says the on-the-go comment could point to a handheld or a partner system like the ROG Xbox Ally. That is an interpretation, not confirmation of a portable Project Helix product.
Is a Project Helix handheld confirmed?
No. The reported town-hall passage acknowledges on-the-go players, but it does not say Xbox will make a Helix handheld, describe a portable device, or identify a partner-built system. The ROG Xbox Ally is a useful existing comparison for an Xbox-branded portable gaming option, but the cited coverage does not establish that it belongs to the Gen-10 family.

What has not been announced
The reported remarks do not provide a complete list of Gen-10 devices or specify whether the family will include a portable system. They also give no partner names, hardware specifications, prices, or launch window. Sharma reportedly said Xbox would share more as plans develop, so those details remain open rather than settled by this passage.
