Bloodborne is not officially available for PC, but two community projects are making progress toward running it on PC hardware. Some tested setups have exceeded the game’s console-era 30 FPS limit; that does not mean every PC can run it better, or that either project offers a polished, plug-and-play PC port.
Is Bloodborne available on PC?
No official PC release was identified in the sources reviewed as of October 8, 2026. The PlayStation Store lists Bloodborne as a PS4 game. When people refer to a Bloodborne “PC port” today, they mean unofficial community efforts—not a release announced or supported by PlayStation or FromSoftware.

There are two distinct routes to understand: shadPS4, a general-purpose PS4 emulator that has shown progress with Bloodborne, and bbport, a project focused specifically on this game. Neither should be confused with an official native PC edition.
How do the community projects differ?
shadPS4: a general PS4 emulator
shadPS4 aims to emulate PS4 games broadly. Independent coverage has reported improving Bloodborne performance in newer versions, but emulator compatibility and performance depend on the game, software version, settings and PC hardware. Coverage also describes glitches, setup difficulty and the need for stability mods.

bbport: a game-specific Linux project
The bbport README describes a Linux-focused project for Bloodborne version 1.09. Its stated approach is to run the game’s x86-64 code directly on the PC CPU, while a game-specific runtime implements the PS4 system functions Bloodborne uses and a Vulkan graphics path handles rendering. The project’s own wording is that “the game’s x86-64 code runs directly on the CPU (no emulation, no instruction translation).” That is the project’s description of its implementation, not an independent assessment or proof of a finished native release.
The README also lists selectable output resolutions, FSR upscaling options and an in-game menu. These are documented project features; they do not by themselves establish broad compatibility or a polished, easy-to-install experience.

The Windows fork is not ready to play
The Windows fork’s README describes work in progress. It says the loader, runtime and renderer build and that the game reaches initialization, but it does not reach the first frame. The README points people who want to play toward Linux or Steam Deck and upstream bbport. This is a repository status snapshot, and development may change it.
What does “runs better” mean in the reported tests?
Some reports show PC configurations running Bloodborne above the 30 FPS limit associated with its console release. They are evidence that higher frame rates are possible in particular configurations—not a matched benchmark proving that PC is universally better than PS4 or PS5. The available figures come from different projects, hardware, locations, software states and measurement methods.

These numbers cannot be collapsed into a single PC-versus-console score. No matched comparison in the available evidence uses the same game build, project route, settings and measurement method on PC and PS4 or PS5. Peak frame rate also does not describe frame pacing, image quality, crashes or how much work it takes to get the game running.
What should you weigh before trying it?
- Frame rate and pacing: Reports show that some configurations can exceed the console-era 30 FPS limit. They do not establish consistent performance across PCs, or guarantee smooth frame pacing.
- Resolution and image quality: Reported 1440p and 4K results belong to specific configurations. bbport documents resolution selection and FSR options, but there is no standardized image-quality comparison across these routes and consoles.
- Hardware compatibility: The bbport experimental memory model has a specific warning: its release notes report limited testing and say it does not work properly with NVIDIA GPUs. The shadPS4 results also reflect particular hardware rather than a representative compatibility survey.
- Setup and stability: PC Gamer’s coverage describes emulator glitches and setup difficulty. The experimental bbport mode may crash. These are projects to approach as works in progress, not equivalent to installing a finished commercial PC game.
- Cost: A faster result may require PC hardware you do not already own. The available reports do not establish a general hardware recommendation or a cost comparison with playing on a console.
What do you need for the documented bbport route?
The bbport README says the project requires the user’s own decrypted dump of Bloodborne CUSA03173 version 1.09, and that the project does not include game files. A retail copy alone is not evidence that you have the decrypted files required by this technical setup. This prerequisite applies to bbport as documented; it should not be assumed to describe every shadPS4 setup. The official PlayStation listing identifies the game as a PS4 title, but ownership and the technical files needed by an unofficial project are separate matters.
Should you choose a PC project or play on console?
If you want a straightforward, officially supported way to play Bloodborne, the community projects described here are not a substitute for one. If you already have compatible PC hardware and are comfortable following unofficial project instructions, shadPS4 and bbport offer different ways to explore progress toward running the game on PC. The reports make a higher frame rate plausible in specific cases; they do not establish a universal winner for performance, stability, cost or convenience.
