First, identify what is crashing
A game closing to desktop is different from Windows showing a blue or gray screen or restarting the whole computer. Steam says the latter points to a computer problem rather than the game or Steam. Also note whether the problem happens immediately at launch or only after you have been playing; that detail will help if you need support.

- Game closes or freezes: Begin with the Steam and game checks below.
- Whole PC restarts or shows a blue/gray screen: Treat it as a system-level issue. Steam’s guidance raises outdated drivers and overheating as possibilities; a game-only crash does not establish either cause.
Try these eight checks for a Steam PC copy
1. Restart the PC and Steam
Restart the computer, open Steam again, and try launching the game. Steam lists a fresh restart as an initial step for games that will not launch.
2. Compare your PC with the listed minimum requirements
Steam’s Bluey: The Videogame technical-support listing gives these requirements:

These are Steam’s published specifications, not independent performance test results. Check your Windows edition, CPU, RAM, graphics card, DirectX support, and available storage against the minimum column. Falling below a listed minimum is a reason to investigate compatibility, but meeting it does not identify or rule out every possible crash cause.
3. Verify the game files in Steam
- Restart your computer and launch Steam.
- In your Library, open the game’s menu (or its gear menu) and select Properties.
- Open Installed Files and select Verify integrity of game files.
- Let the check finish; Steam says it can take several minutes.
Steam says verification can help when game content is missing or the game crashes. Some files may fail verification because they are local configuration files; Steam says that can be normal. A verification result by itself does not prove what caused a crash.

4. Install pending Windows updates
Check Windows Update and install pending updates, then restart and test the game again. This is part of Steam’s general launch advice, not evidence of a Bluey-specific update or patch.
5. Update relevant hardware drivers
Check for current graphics and other relevant hardware drivers through your PC maker or the component maker. Steam recommends updating hardware drivers but does not specify a Bluey-specific driver version. Avoid relying on an unverified third-party driver download.

6. Temporarily close non-essential background programs
Close non-essential programs, try launching the game, and then restore your normal settings. Steam recommends this as a way to isolate common launch problems; it does not establish that any particular overlay, security program, or other app is responsible.
7. Check airflow if slowdown comes before a whole-PC failure
If the computer slows or stutters before it crashes or restarts, check that it has room for ventilation. Steam advises using laptops on hard surfaces and leaving space around desktop cases for airflow. A game closing to desktop on its own is not proof of overheating; do not open the computer or buy parts based only on that symptom.

8. Contact support with specific details
If the game still fails, use the technical-support route on the Steam support listing for Bluey: The Videogame. Include:
- That your copy is on Steam and your PC’s relevant specifications.
- Whether the game closes, freezes, or the whole PC restarts or shows a blue/gray screen.
- When the problem occurs—at launch or after playing—and any exact error text.
- Which checks you tried and what happened, including the file-verification result.
For a system-wide blue/gray screen or repeated forced restarts, Steam advises seeking PC-maker or qualified local support rather than treating it only as a game issue.

There is no confirmed Bluey-specific known bug or universal fix established by these support sources. Steam’s general launch guidance says launch failures can have different causes, so the useful next step depends on the symptom: compare the PC with the published requirements, see whether file verification finds content to repair, and distinguish a game-only failure from a whole-computer crash.
