There is no single Blue Archive tier list that ranks every student accurately for every server, raid, PvP match, and story stage. Use a list only when its game version, mode, encounter, and investment assumptions match your own goal; then build a team around the fight rather than picking students by rank alone.
What a Blue Archive tier list can—and cannot—tell you
A tier list is a shortcut for comparing students under a particular set of assumptions. It can help you decide whom to recruit or invest in, but a rank is not a universal measure of a student’s value. A student who excels in one raid or role may be less useful in another mode, while a specialist can be essential when the encounter suits them.
Rankings also depend on how the author evaluates units. Mobi.gg says its raid-focused ratings assess Strikers and Specials at maximum skill level. Ludo Guide describes a broader framework that considers versatility across raids, PvP, and story stages; specialist strength; team synergy; and ease of use and investment. Those approaches answer different questions, so their tiers should not be treated as interchangeable.
Choose a list that matches the mode you play
Raids
For raid planning, start with a list that names the raid boss and, ideally, the difficulty and unit role. BlueArchive.gg’s tier list separates ratings by raid, unit category, and difficulty. Mobi.gg’s list is explicitly raid-focused. These are more useful for a specific encounter than a single ranking that blends every mode.

Mobi.gg’s overview places Ako, Fuuka (New Year), Himari, Shizuko (Swimsuit), Aris (Maid), Azusa (Swimsuit), Haruna, and Hasumi (Track) in its S+ group. This is Mobi.gg’s assessment for raids, not a universal consensus. Its page says it was updated August 24, 2026, and evaluates skills at maximum level; check the live page for changes before using those placements.
PvP
PvP is a different environment from raids, so do not assume a raid ranking predicts arena performance. A September 30, 2026 community roundup links to separate PvP usage and raid-character resources. Use mode-specific advice, and confirm that any PvP guide reflects the current roster and game version.

Story and general progression
For story stages and account progression, favor advice that explains flexibility, team fit, and investment cost—not only peak performance in a specialist encounter. Ludo Guide’s October 2024 framework is useful for understanding these comparison factors, but its update date makes it unsuitable as a current placement list without checking newer sources.
How to compare rankings before you spend resources
- Check the date and version. Student releases and event rotations can make old recommendations stale. Compare the visible update date and roster coverage with the version you play.
- Match the region or server. Availability and release timing can differ. A ranking based on another server may include students you cannot recruit yet.
- Match the mode and encounter. Look for the raid boss, PvP, or story context. For raids, check whether the list distinguishes difficulties.
- Read the role and rating assumptions. Note whether the student is a Striker or Special, whether skills are evaluated at maximum level, and what each tier label means.
- Account for your roster and investment. A high-ranked student may need particular allies, equipment, skill materials, or Eligma investment to deliver the value described. Consider whether you can field the intended composition.
The tier labels themselves are not standardized. Mobi.gg describes S+ as strongest across most raids, S as alternatives, A as useful early- or mid-game choices, B as situational, and C as beginner-oriented. Those definitions belong to that list; another publisher may use the same letters differently.

Turn a tier into a team-building decision
Before recruiting or upgrading a student, identify the problem you want them to solve: the target encounter, your available allies, and the role your team lacks. Then check whether the ranking’s recommendation depends on a particular composition or high skill investment. A versatile student may help across several activities, while a specialist can be the better investment if you are preparing for the exact challenge where they excel.
Ludo Guide’s author, displayed as “teroqim,” summarizes the limitation well: “Remember, while a tier list provides a strong foundation, strategic team building and understanding specific mechanics will always triumph over blindly following rankings.” The guide was last updated in October 2024, so use its point about methodology rather than assuming its placements are current.

Are Pocket Gamer’s rankings definitive?
Pocket Gamer’s page is titled “Blue Archive tier list – The definitive ranking of every student in class,” but “definitive” is the page’s framing, not proof that one ranking applies to every mode or server. The opened page displayed an update date of July 16, 2026 and version 1.90.439170, while search indexing reported September 6, 2026, version 1.93.452024, with Niko and Kurumi added. Because those dates conflict, verify the live page’s displayed update and roster before relying on it as current. The available page text also does not establish that every current student appears in its table.
Use Pocket Gamer’s tier list as one reference, not as a mode-independent answer. Cross-check any placement that will shape a major resource decision against a list that specifies the encounter and its assumptions.
