The latest dated general ranking located for Wittle Defender is Pocket Gamer’s September 4, 2026 tier list, labeled for version 2.0.3. It places 13 heroes in S tier, but that is a broad recommendation—not a best-team answer for every battle. Choose around the mode, damage profile, and Chain Skills your team can use.

Pocket Gamer’s general list, updated September 4, 2026 and labeled for game version 2.0.3, ranks these 13 heroes in S tier:

How to choose heroes for your team
Match damage to the battle
The general list cautions that battles can demand different damage profiles: area-of-effect damage helps against groups, while single-target damage matters for concentrating attacks on one enemy. Neither profile is universally better. Use the challenge in front of you to decide which you need rather than treating S tier as an automatic lineup.

Check Chain Skill pairings
Chain Skills are passive skills activated by deploying two heroes with the same skill, according to Pocket Gamer. The guide points to Ice Demon and Ice Queen, Ice Mage and Ice Witch, and Blazing Archer and Demon Spawn as pairings to consider. A hero’s place in a working combination can matter as much as an isolated tier placement.
Account for mode and progression
Campaign chapters, bosses, PvP, and events can reward different lineups; Wittle AI separates its recommendations into mode-specific and progression-focused lists. Why another tier list ranks heroes differently
Wittle AI’s high-end ranking, dated June 2, 2026 and marked Patch v2.8, is not a direct replacement for Pocket Gamer’s newer general list. It assumes heroes are at least 3-Diamond and the player is past Chapter 100. Under those endgame assumptions, it identifies Starlight Weaver as mandatory and includes Panda Brewmaster, Monkey King, Void Witch, Levin Archangel, Archon Armor, and Drakaina among its S-tier selections; some ratings also depend on pairings. Those criteria differ from a general all-heroes ranking, so combining the two lists into one supposed definitive order would be misleading. Wittle AI says its page covers 36 verified heroes, a scope claim rather than an independently audited count of the live roster. Details are on its high-end tier list.

Neither cited ranking is an official developer tier list. The available material does not establish an official October 2026 hero ranking, independent hero win or pick rates, or whether an app update changed character balance. Google Play shows the Wittle Defender listing was updated September 8, 2026, but that date alone does not show that the update changed the meta. The store describes the HABBY game as a mix of tower defense, roguelike, and card strategy featuring hero squads and varied skills; it also notes in-app purchases, including random items.
