Spoiler: The Apple Orchard gate code in Blue Prince is 1128. It comes from the date 11-28 carved into a tree in a photograph inside the Darkroom. Use the in-game Magnifying Glass to read the date, then enter its four digits at the locked gate near the Campsite.
How to find the Apple Orchard code
- Reach the Darkroom and get the Magnifying Glass. The in-game item helps reveal small details in pictures and documents.
- Restore power to the Darkroom. Use the breaker in the Utility Closet so you can see the room’s contents.
- Inspect the Orchard photograph. Use the Magnifying Glass and look at the tree: the carved date is 11-28.
- Enter the code at the gate. Go to the locked gate near the Campsite and enter 1128.
The date is written with a dash, but the keypad code uses its four digits without punctuation. GameSpot and the Blue Prince Wiki describe the lights-on method; Gameranx describes viewing the photos with the Darkroom power off. The lights-on steps are the clearer, more widely corroborated route in the available guides. What unlocking the Orchard gives you
The Blue Prince Wiki says the Apple Orchard adds 20 starting Steps each day. The Orchard also contains a gasline valve and a sundial.
The sundial is a separate puzzle
Do not treat the sundial as part of the gate-code solution. Its puzzle uses a distinct mechanic involving scorching and turning the base; the 11-28 clue only opens the gate.
