To compete for its PlayStation 5 prize, build a fantasy team and finish among the top 2,048 teams after the first five EuroLeague rounds. BasketNews says only BN+ supporters are eligible for prizes.
How the BN+ Cup works
BasketNews describes the cup as a second-chance competition within its EuroLeague fantasy game. Teams qualify based on their results in the opening five rounds, then compete in a group stage and playoffs. The publisher’s announcement gives this outline:

|---|---|
| Qualification | The top 2,048 teams after the first five EuroLeague rounds qualify. |
| Groups | 256 groups of eight teams compete during Rounds 7–13. |

How to enter and qualify
- Join BasketNews EuroLeague Fantasy. Create a team in the fantasy game and take part in the opening rounds. The BN+ Cup is part of this game, not a separate PlayStation competition.
- Finish in the top 2,048 after the first five rounds. That is the qualification threshold BasketNews published for the 2026–27 cup.
- Compete through the announced cup stages. Qualified teams are assigned to groups for Rounds 7–13; BasketNews says the top 1,024 move to playoffs from Round 15.
- Check current official terms before relying on prize eligibility. BasketNews says only BN+ supporters are eligible for prizes, but its announcement does not spell out the applicable membership terms or all contest conditions.
The PlayStation 5 is identified as the prize for the BN+ Cup champion. BasketNews does not specify the console model or how the prize will be delivered. Nothing in its announcement says that buying a console is required to play or improves a team’s chance of winning.

Choose a fantasy mode
BasketNews describes two ways to build a team. The announced cup qualification is based on fantasy-team performance; its overview does not clarify any mode-specific cup rules.
| Mode | How you build a team | Where you compete |
|---|---|---|
| Classic | Use a €10,000,000 budget to select a 10-player roster. | Your team joins the main league, and you can also create private leagues with friends. |
| Draft | Take turns selecting players. Once someone drafts a player, the other teams in that league cannot select that player. | Private leagues; BasketNews recommends up to 12 participants. |
Build a team with a plan
BasketNews’s September 10, 2026 fantasy advice focuses on value and changing player context rather than reputation alone. It recommends considering:
Rank #2
- CPU: x86-64-AMD Ryzen Zen 8 Cores / 16 Threads at 3.5GHz.GPU: AMD Radeon RDNA 2-based graphics engine.
- 16GB GDDR6/256-bit Memory; 825GB SSD Storage Capacity
- Ethernet (10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T), IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.1
- HDR technology, 8K output, 4K TV gaming, Up to 120 fps with 120Hz output, Tempest 3D AudioTech
- What's Included: Sony PlayStation 5 Disc Version; Wireless controller; USB cable, HDMI cable, AC power cord. Nogtox PVT HDMI_cable
- Cost against expected fantasy output: weigh a player’s price against the contribution you expect, rather than choosing only well-known names.
- Minutes and consistency: check previous-season playing time and performance, then look for signs that a player’s role has changed.
- Preseason form and role: use preseason information as context for likely responsibilities, not as a guarantee of regular-season production.
- Matchups and venues: consider the opponent and whether the game is home or away.
- Captain alternatives: keep more than one plausible captain choice so you can adapt to the slate.
- Injury news: follow updates that may affect availability or playing time.
These are BasketNews’s suggestions, not tested guarantees of qualification or a winning strategy. Its advice article is Fantasy season is approaching: how to build a champion team (in Lithuanian).
What the announcement does not settle
The published overview is not a complete rulebook. It does not state age or geographic eligibility, tie-break procedures, the cup’s exact scoring rules, prize delivery or tax terms, or the specific BN+ membership conditions that apply to prize eligibility. Confirm those details in the current official game and contest terms before entering if they affect your participation.
