Bobara is a $4.99, low-pressure companion app in which a capybara named Momo relaxes in a small hot spring that mirrors your local weather. Lotus Apps, LLC expects to release it on November 9, 2026, for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. There are no ads, subscriptions, in-app purchases, streaks or hunger meters.
What is Bobara?
Bobara is an entertainment app built around watching rather than managing a virtual pet. Momo, its capybara resident, lives in an onsen and changes the atmosphere of that scene as your day changes. The design is intentionally noncompetitive: the app does not ask you to maintain a streak, refill a hunger bar or respond to reminders.

That makes Bobara closer to an ambient companion than a productivity, fitness or conventional pet-care app. You can open it for a brief check-in, leave it running as a calming scene, or glance at it through a widget or Apple Watch complication.
When does Bobara come out?
Lotus Apps, LLC expects Bobara to open on November 9, 2026. That is a planned availability date, so the actual appearance of the App Store listing may vary by region or review timing. The announced device coverage is Apple hardware: iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

How Momo follows your weather
Bobara can use location permission to match the hot spring to conditions where you are. The documented weather states are clear, cloudy, rain, storm and snow. The scene also moves through sunrise, sunset and nighttime, so the same onsen can look different over the course of a day.
Lotus Apps says the soundscape can include wind, rain, thunder and crickets after dark. Weather access is permission-based: without location permission, the app cannot use your local conditions to drive the scene. The weather feature is atmospheric rather than a forecasting tool; it does not replace a weather service for temperatures, alerts or detailed forecasts.

What happens when you log a boba tea?
The main interaction connects the app to a real-world drink. When you buy boba tea, you tap it into Bobara as a check-in. The app uses that event to bring activity to Momo’s onsen rather than to award points in a competitive system.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- A first check-in can trigger a visitor or another new arrival.
- A repeat drink does not simply create a duplicate entry; it can deepen the relationship with a returning visitor.
- Other outcomes can include a tea-house shelf prize or additional time for someone already present.
The result is a collection-and-discovery loop tied to occasional real drinks. If you want to prepare a drink at home, a boba tea kit is an optional way to make the physical beverage the app asks you to log; Bobara does not require one, and no merchant endorsement is implied.

Supported devices and glanceable views
Bobara is designed to keep the same onsen recognizable across Apple devices. Lotus Apps says one renderer draws the scene for the phone, tablet, widget and watch layouts.
| Surface | What is supported |
|---|---|
| iPhone | Full app experience and Home Screen widgets |
| iPad | Full app experience with a tablet layout |
| Apple Watch | Apple Watch app and complication |
| Night Stand | Night Stand Mode for a bedside glance |
The watch complication and widgets are intended for quick viewing rather than replacing the full interaction. Logging a boba and exploring visitors remain part of the app experience, while the smaller surfaces let you check the atmosphere without opening the main app.

Price, business model and privacy
The current listed price is $4.99 as a one-time purchase. The App Store description states that Bobara has no advertising, subscription and in-app purchases. Because App Store prices can vary by country and taxes, the amount shown on your regional storefront is the one that applies to your purchase.
The App Store privacy section reports “Data Not Collected.” Apple labels that information as developer-provided and says it has not been verified by Apple, so the disclosure should be read as the developer’s stated data practice rather than an independent audit. Location permission is still relevant to the weather feature: granting it allows local conditions to drive Momo’s scene, while declining it prevents that location-based behavior.

How Bobara is built
Lotus Apps’ portfolio identifies Swift, SwiftUI, SwiftData, WidgetKit, WeatherKit and CloudKit among the technologies used to build Bobara. Those names indicate an Apple-native implementation spanning the main apps, widgets, weather integration and cloud-connected data, but they do not by themselves establish performance, battery life or synchronization quality.
Who Bobara is for
- Choose it if: you want a calm, visual companion; enjoy weather-reactive ambience; use several Apple devices; or like collection mechanics without penalties for missing a day.
- Set expectations: it is not a game built around challenge, progression pressure or skill, and it is not a detailed weather app.
- Check before buying: confirm that your regional App Store offers the app after the planned November 9 launch and that your device supports the required Apple platform version shown in the live listing.
Bobara’s appeal is its small, specific loop: buy or make a real boba, log it, and see what arrives at Momo’s weather-matched hot spring. The one-time price and absence of reminders or decay make it a deliberately low-commitment companion rather than another app demanding daily maintenance.
