Infinity Ward is asking Modern Warfare 4 players not to share campaign spoilers when early access begins on October 16, 2026. The complete game launches on October 23, creating a seven-day gap in which some players can finish story missions before the wider audience can play them.
Why Infinity Ward issued the spoiler warning
The warning is a direct response to the staggered release schedule. Players who qualify for campaign early access may reach major story revelations a week before the standard launch. In MW4, the story of Task Force 141 reaches a breaking point. We’ve got one ask. Let everyone experience it for themselves. Keep the campaign spoilers under wraps. The statement does not identify a particular twist, death or ending. Those details have not been officially established in the available material, so players who want a spoiler-free experience should avoid campaign footage and discussions from October 16 onward.

Xbox’s current product page says Modern Warfare 4 is not eligible for Xbox Game Pass. A Game Pass subscription should not be treated as a way to obtain the October 16 campaign access or the October 23 game at launch.
What the campaign is about without spoiling it
Official Activision material sets the opening crisis in Korea, where North Korea launches a full-scale invasion of the Korean Peninsula. The campaign follows Private Park, a young South Korean soldier, while Captain Price operates outside the system on a revenge-driven mission.

How to stay spoiler-free during early access
- Mute or unfollow keywords such as “MW4,” “Modern Warfare 4,” “Task Force 141” and character names on social platforms.
- Avoid recommended videos, livestream thumbnails and clips from October 16 through launch week.
- Do not open unmarked discussion threads, achievement lists or leaked mission footage.
- If you are playing early, label streams and posts clearly and keep thumbnails, titles and chat free of story details.
