Axemaul is the boss at the end of The Toil of Spoiling Vis, an abandoned Auger mine east of the Carcadia District fast-travel station in Dominion. The encounter can drop the Buzz Axe grenade ordnance, Bod shotgun, and Kill Spring repkit; once the mine is unlocked, Moxxi’s Big Encore lets you repeat the fight.
Where to find Axemaul
Travel to the Carcadia District fast-travel station in Dominion and head east to The Toil of Spoiling Vis. The mine is near The Lockaway safehouse, in the center of the district, according to PC Gamer’s abandoned Auger mine guide. Axemaul waits at the end of the mine. Mobalytics’ Axemaul guide also identifies The Toil of Spoiling Vis as the boss’s location.

How to unlock the mine
Dominion becomes accessible after you complete the main missions in Fadefields, Terminus Range, and Carcadia Burn. You also need to complete Shadow of the Mountain to access abandoned Auger mines, including The Toil of Spoiling Vis. See PC Gamer’s guide to abandoned Auger mines for the access requirements.

These effects are listed in Mobalytics’ Axemaul drop guide; the Bod’s All-Rounder trait and Kill Spring’s healing-orb effect are also described in PC Gamer’s abandoned Auger mine guide. The Bod can complement builds that benefit from more than one weapon-class damage bonus because its damage counts toward five classes. Kill Spring’s orbs can help nearby allies when excess damage finishes an enemy.
How to farm Axemaul
After defeating Axemaul and unlocking the encounter, use Moxxi’s Big Encore machine to repeat the boss fight. Each run is an opportunity for another drop, not a guarantee of a specific item. The exact Buzz Axe drop rate is not officially published in the reviewed sources, so there is no supported percentage to plan around.

Nerd’s Chalk’s Axemaul farming guide recommends selling unwanted drops to help cover the repeat cost, clearing inventory before a run, and lowering Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode if your build is struggling at the current difficulty. These are practical suggestions rather than a measured comparison of farming routes.
