To get the Hellwalker in Borderlands 4, reach Terminus Range, then farm the Old Scrape encounter at Cuspid Climb. Clear the enemy waves and defeat Saddleback; use the Moxxi’s Encore Machine at the entrance to restart the encounter. The shotgun is a random drop, not a guaranteed reward.
Where to find the Hellwalker
The farm is Old Scrape, a dig site in Cuspid Climb, Terminus Range. You must progress through the campaign’s opening area, Fadefields, to reach Terminus Range. PC Gamer places Old Scrape near the entrance from Fadefields: follow the main road, turn right at the southbound fork, and continue past a silo. PC Gamer’s guide recommends gaining levels through missions first if the enemies are too tough when the region opens.
How to farm the Old Scrape encounter
- Travel to Old Scrape in Cuspid Climb, Terminus Range.
- Fight through the drill-site enemy waves until the boss encounter begins.
- Defeat Saddleback, the named target Mobalytics identifies after the waves. PC Gamer also names Immortal Boneface in its description of the Old Scrape farm, so follow the encounter through its boss sequence rather than assuming every source names the target identically.
- If the Hellwalker does not drop, return to the entrance and use Moxxi’s Encore Machine to restart the encounter. Repeat the waves and boss fight.
Mobalytics’ guide describes Saddleback appearing after the drill-site waves and the Encore Machine as the way to repeat the fight. The community-maintained Borderlands Wiki also lists Meathead Riders at Old Scrape as having an increased chance to drop the weapon. The sources do not give an exact drop rate, and a kill does not guarantee a Hellwalker.
What the Hellwalker does
The Hellwalker is a legendary Jakobs shotgun. PC Gamer describes it as a high-damage double-barrel weapon with a pentagon-shaped firing pattern and a Doom-inspired guitar riff. The community-maintained Borderlands Wiki lists it as incendiary, says it consumes two ammo per shot, and notes its fast reload. Those are community-reported weapon details, not an official stat sheet.

Incendiary affinity and version context
PC Gamer reported that the September 25, 2025 patch restored the Hellwalker’s incendiary affinity and applied the correction retroactively to weapons already dropped; its guide was updated September 26, 2025. Mobalytics’ October 9, 2025 update also lists the element as fire. These dated reports establish the correction at that time, but do not confirm whether a later update through October 8, 2026 changed the weapon, its affinity, or the farm.
