Borderlands 4 has four reported Bank of Kairos terminals: one each in The Howl, Carcadia Burn, and two towns in Terminus Range. You can send tagged items to the bank remotely from your inventory, but you need to visit a physical terminal to withdraw them.
Where to find all four Borderlands 4 bank terminals
The terminals are in faction-town hubs, not every region or safehouse. Look for the piggy-bank icon on your map. The locations below are reported by Destructoid and GamesRadar+; the two guides were last updated September 12 and September 22, 2025, respectively.

- The Launchpad — The Howl, The Fadefields: In town, look for the building with radar dishes. GamesRadar+ describes it as the building to the left after you exit the main base; the bank is against the room’s back wall.
- Carcadia — Ruined Sumplands, Carcadia Burn: Enter the main building. The terminal is along the left wall near the vending machines.
- Belton’s Bore — The Low Leys, Terminus Range: Find the terminal on the second floor, above the Fast Travel machine.
- Bones of Sanctuary — Heart of the Mountain, Terminus Range: Exit the main building; the terminal is next to the stairs.
If you are already in a faction town, GamesRadar+ says the ECHO Location feature can point you toward its bank. Use the in-game icon or locator if navigation differs after a game update; official support material does not provide a newer complete location list.
How to deposit loot without visiting a bank
- Open your Backpack or inventory.
- Tag the items you want to send to storage.
- Use the on-screen transfer control and hold it until the transfer completes. The input varies by platform, so follow the control prompt shown in your game rather than assuming one button works everywhere.
The guides describe depositing as available remotely, so you do not need to travel to a terminal just to store an item.

How to retrieve stored items
To take gear back out, travel to one of the four terminals and interact with it. The location guides say withdrawal requires access to a physical bank; remote depositing does not mean remote retrieval.
Capacity and character progression
Destructoid reports that SDU upgrades can expand bank capacity. Borderlands Support’s Shared Character Progression documentation, announced in March 2026 and updated in July 2026, lists collectibles, activities, SDU points, and map progress as shareable between characters. It does not list bank inventory, so that feature is not confirmation that stored items are shared. The location guides separately describe the bank as shared/account storage, but the official progression page does not establish that detail.

New saves can disable Shared Character Progression, and that choice is locked for that save, according to the same support page. This concerns the listed progression feature; it should not be read as a statement about bank contents.

Gearbox’s November 20, 2025 update notes mention restored missing item thumbnails in the bank menu and faster loading when many items are stored. Those fixes show the interface has been updated; they do not indicate that the bank locations changed.
