Chuck is a Tediore-manufactured Legendary Assault Rifle in Borderlands 4. A published guide identifies The Pitted Stain Drill Sight as its dedicated farm route: complete the encounter once, then clear its three minibosses and use the nearby Encore Machine to reset it. Chuck’s reported “Pitcher” effect throws the gun and creates four grenades on impact, but the available sources do not establish a drop rate or guarantee that Chuck will drop.
What Chuck does
A published item guide describes Chuck as a Kinetic Tediore Legendary Assault Rifle with the unique effect “Pitcher.” Pulling the trigger throws the weapon; when it hits an enemy or the ground, four grenades spawn and explode. Those item-card details come from the guide, not Gearbox’s reviewed patch notes.

The same guide recommends using Chuck as a midrange explosive and leaving space before throwing it, since a close-range throw can down the player. It also advises carrying weapons with other elements for targets that are a poor match for Kinetic damage. These are guide recommendations, not reported test results. Read the Chuck guide.
Where to farm Chuck
The reported dedicated route is The Pitted Stain Drill Sight, southwest of The Fadefields and just outside Fortress Indomita. The reviewed guides identify this as a Chuck farm, but do not establish that it is the exclusive source or that the activity guarantees a drop. They publish no drop chance, expected number of attempts, or measured comparison with another route. Route reference; additional game reference.

How to repeat the encounter
- Unlock the repeat loop: complete The Pitted Stain Drill Sight encounter once.
- Clear the capstone: on later runs, defeat the three minibosses at the end of the activity.
- Reset nearby: use the Encore Machine beside the encounter to reset it, then run the activity again.
Moxxi’s Big Encore machines are described as paid encounter-reset points for bosses and Drill Sites. Selling unwanted loot or restocking can be part of a general farming loop, but the Chuck route does not uniquely require either step. General farming guide.

Gearbox’s January 29, 2026 update notes say: “Tediore Legendary Auto-rifle Chuck now throws properly when the player has over 120% gun reload speed”. This is relevant if your build stacks reload speed; the note documents a behavior fix under that condition. Gearbox’s January 29, 2026 update notes.

Gearbox’s March 26, 2026 notes say: “Tediore AR Chuck: Assault Rifle challenges now count your progress when using the Legendary Assault Rifle Chuck”. This concerns challenge tracking rather than the weapon’s effect or farm. Gearbox’s March 26, 2026 update notes.
Gearbox’s version 1.6 notes, dated April 30, 2026 and updated July 2, discuss later game changes, but the reviewed text does not establish a Chuck-specific effect or a change to its drop source. They therefore do not confirm that The Pitted Stain remains exclusive or that its drop is guaranteed. Gearbox’s version 1.6 notes.
