The free Hazard Pay weapon skin is an email-opt-in reward tied to a verified SHiFT account—not a code you can claim without meeting the offer’s account and game requirements. To redeem SHiFT codes or other eligible rewards, use the SHiFT website or Borderlands 4’s in-game SHiFT menu. Golden Key codes are not guaranteed to remain active, so check current codes through official channels rather than relying on old lists.
What the Hazard Pay offer includes—and who can claim it
Gearbox and 2K describe Hazard Pay as an exclusive weapon skin offer for Borderlands 4. The official Hazard Pay terms require a verified SHiFT account, enrollment in 2K/Gearbox newsletters and digital marketing, a linked platform account, and a login to Borderlands 4 using that SHiFT account. You must own a copy of the game, be at least 18, and accept the offer terms. The offer is limited to one redemption per SHiFT account.

Redeem a SHiFT code on the website or in Borderlands 4
Gearbox supports two redemption routes. The website makes it easier to check which game and platform a code supports before claiming; the in-game route is convenient if you are already playing. The official instructions do not indicate that either route provides a different reward.

| SHiFT website | Sign in, open Rewards, enter the code under Code Redemption, select Check, then choose an eligible game and platform. | You want to inspect game and platform eligibility before redeeming. |
| In Borderlands 4 | From the Main Menu, open SHiFT > Rewards. | You are already in the game and want to redeem there. |
On the website, a successful redemption shows a success banner; an invalid or expired code produces an error. If a code supports multiple games or platforms, each eligible game/platform selection may need its own check and redemption. Gearbox warns that codes can be time-sensitive, specific to a game, or expired. Its SHiFT code guide advises checking official channels for codes; use the website’s Check flow to confirm whether a code is currently valid for your account and game.
Find redeemed rewards and use them on the right Vault Hunter
After claiming a reward, check Inventory > Equipment > Reward Center. Gearbox’s Borderlands 4 content FAQ distinguishes cosmetic rewards from usable gear: redeem cosmetics in the Reward Center, then equip them through Customization. Cosmetics can be used across your Vault Hunters.
A claimed gun or other tangible item initially belongs to the Vault Hunter that claims it. Golden Keys are the exception: they are pooled among your Vault Hunters. SHiFT and Twitch rewards are tied to the SHiFT account, so unlinking an account can result in losing access to those rewards.

Are Borderlands 4 Golden Key codes still active?
There is no guarantee that a code published around launch will still work. Gearbox says SHiFT codes may expire or be restricted to a particular game, and the current validity of individual codes can change. No unverified code list is included here; check Gearbox’s official social channels or enter a code on the SHiFT website and use Check before relying on it.

Launch Twitch Drops were time-limited
The launch-era Twitch Drop windows are over. Gearbox/2K’s September 16, 2025 announcement listed an ECHO-4 Drop requiring 20 minutes of qualifying viewing and ending September 26, 2025. It also listed two guns available September 11–30, 2025. Those dates do not establish that the Drops are available now; check official Borderlands channels for any future campaigns.
