What did the Borderlands 4 Gamescom teaser show?
Take-Two Interactive announced Borderlands 4 during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 20, 2024. Its teaser trailer offered a first glimpse of an all-new planet, and the announcement set a 2025 release window for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Take-Two’s announcement did not specify a launch day.
When did Borderlands 4 come out?
The date changed during the lead-up to release. 2K first announced September 23, 2025, then later announced September 12. The publisher’s gameplay deep dive announcement gave the September 12 date, and 2K confirmed the game was available worldwide that day on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The release announcement lists PC availability through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
That is why older coverage may say September 23: it reported the earlier announced date, not the date on which the game ultimately launched.
