Vile Lictor is the boss at the end of the His Vile Sanctum campaign mission. To handle his main attacks, dodge the homing Hundred Hands projectiles, jump over the ground-level Spectral Wall, move through openings in its segmented version, and keep him in view when he teleports. PC Gamer reports several possible Legendary drops, but Gearbox has not published a Vile Lictor-specific drop percentage.
Where to find Vile Lictor
The official Epic Games Store campaign mission guide lists Vile Lictor as the boss for His Vile Sanctum. PC Gamer places the encounter in the Umbral Foundry, in Windspear, Terminus Range, and reports that the first fight takes place at the end of that mission. The mission identification is from Epic’s guide; the region and arena details are PC Gamer’s reporting.
How to beat Vile Lictor
Epic’s guide focuses on recognizing the attack and avoiding it. It does not specify a required weapon, build, elemental weakness, or guaranteed damage strategy.
Hundred Hands
Vile Lictor sends out multiple projectiles that home toward your location. Keep moving quickly to get out of their path rather than staying in one place.

Spectral Wall
The attack has two forms. When the wall travels along the ground, jump over it. When it appears in segments, reposition through the gaps instead of trying to push through a section.
Teleport
Vile Lictor can teleport, so try to keep him in sight. Tracking his movement makes it easier to notice where he has gone and respond to the next attack.

Vile Lictor’s reported Legendary drops
PC Gamer reports that Vile Lictor can drop the following Legendary items. This is a secondary-source list, not an official, verified exhaustive drop table; Gearbox’s official sources do not enumerate his item-by-item drops.

Is there a known drop rate?
No Vile Lictor-specific percentage is established in the official sources. In its March 5, 2026 minor update notes, Gearbox Support said dedicated loot reward chances were standardized across base-game bosses, Bounty Packs, and Invincible encounters. The note provides no numeric rate for Vile Lictor, so it cannot support a precise odds estimate or a promise that an item will drop after a particular number of runs.

How to replay the Vile Lictor fight
Gearbox’s official gameplay overview describes Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine as a way to fight bosses again. PC Gamer specifically reports that, after defeating Vile Lictor once, you can return to the machine to respawn him and farm the encounter. The official overview confirms the general replay mechanic; its use for this particular boss is reported by PC Gamer.
No price, exact machine location, or menu sequence for restarting this encounter is established by these sources. If you are farming for one of the reported items, plan for repeated attempts rather than relying on a guaranteed drop.

Is Vile Lictor the best farm for a specific item?
The reported list gives you a reason to repeat Vile Lictor if you are pursuing one of those items, including the Super Soldier shield. It does not establish that he is the fastest or best source compared with other activities: there is no verified competing drop table or run-time comparison here. Your practical choice depends on whether you have unlocked His Vile Sanctum, how manageable and quick the encounter is for your character, and whether a current activity or patch establishes a better route.
