What is free, and what is paid?
The original roadmap and subsequent updates split content into three broad categories. Seasonal mini-events and named game or endgame updates are free to all players; Bounty Packs and Story Packs are paid content, though some editions or bundles include particular packs.

Owning a paid Story Pack is not required for every update released alongside it. For example, the Story Pack 1 notes distinguish its paid C4SH content from free updates available to all players, including people who do not own the pack.
What content is on the 2026 roadmap?
The entries below distinguish dated plans and pack descriptions from confirmed delivery. A date in a schedule or announcement is not, by itself, proof that the content arrived on that date.

January 29, 2026: free features and endgame additions; paid packs
2K’s January 29 roadmap update named a level-cap increase and cross-platform saves as free additions. It also listed a second raid boss and a Takedown as free endgame content. The paid releases named in that update were Bounty Pack 2 and Story Pack 1.
February 26, 2026: Bounty Pack 2, Legend of the Stone Demon
Borderlands Support’s February 26 notes describe Legend of the Stone Demon as the second of five post-launch Bounty Packs. They detail an Ordonite-related activity and boss encounter as routes to new gear. The notes say the pack is included with Deluxe Edition, Super Deluxe Edition, and the Bounty Pack Bundle, or can be purchased separately. Edition and bundle contents or separate availability may differ by storefront and region.

March 26, 2026: Story Pack 1 and C4SH
The Story Pack 1 notes identify C4SH as the first of two new Vault Hunters coming through paid Story Packs. They also separately identify free updates for all players, including those who do not own Story Pack 1. The distinction matters: C4SH is paid Story Pack content, while the free updates in those notes are not gated behind ownership of the pack.
May 28, 2026: Raid Boss 2 was scheduled
In its April 30 Version 1.6 notes, Borderlands Support said the next major update was slated for May 28. It named the encounter as Raid Boss 2, featuring Subjugator and Thol the Invincible, and said rewards and UVH level 7 would be available to all players. The notes describe a planned date; the sources covered here do not confirm whether that update was delivered as scheduled.

July 30, 2026: Bounty Pack 4 listing
Steam’s DLC catalog lists Bounty Pack 4, Murders and Acquisitions, with a July 30, 2026 date. Its listing describes a boss, three minibosses, a Pearlescent weapon, and six Legendary items. This is storefront catalog information, so availability and listing details can vary by platform and change over time.
September 10, 2026: Story Pack 2 and Bounty Pack 5 announced
2K announced FL4K and the Last Resort as Story Pack 2 and Amara and the Vile Shadows as Bounty Pack 5, with a September 10 date. The Story Pack 2 announcement describes Loveless the Hacker and a new zone containing missions, collectibles, landmarks, enemies, boss fights, and loot. The announcement establishes the planned date and described contents; it does not, on its own, verify delivery.
