Shadowpelt is found in Whistler’s Maw Abandoned Auger Mine, in Cusper’s Climb, Terminus Range. A secondary guide says the mine unlocks after the main mission Shadow of the Mountain. That guide reports Sparky Shield, Vamoose, and Slippy as loot, but no official source cited here confirms those items or gives Shadowpelt-specific drop odds.
Where to find Shadowpelt
Shadowpelt’s arena is inside the Whistler’s Maw Abandoned Auger Mine in Cusper’s Climb, within Terminus Range. A guide last updated September 16, 2025, says to complete the main mission Shadow of the Mountain to access Abandoned Auger Mines.
- Complete Shadow of the Mountain if the mine is not accessible.
- Travel to Cusper’s Climb in Terminus Range and look for the Whistler’s Maw Abandoned Auger Mine marker.
- Enter the mine, clear the tunnels, and follow the route to the boss arena.
If the entrance is still inaccessible, the guide suggests that more campaign progress may be required. Use the in-game map marker as the practical check. After your first clear, set up a fast-travel shortcut if the game offers one.
How to fight Shadowpelt
The secondary guide describes a shield-first fight: Shadowpelt begins with a regenerating shield and takes direct health damage once that shield is broken. Treat this as reported encounter guidance rather than an officially confirmed mechanic.

Borderlands Support’s January 15, 2026 update notes say, “Beginning this week, we are permanently increasing the dedicated drop rates on bosses.” The notes also describe a permanent increase to Legendary drop-rate chance, but provide no numeric odds for Shadowpelt and do not confirm the named loot above.

How to farm Shadowpelt
A general Borderlands 4 farming guide describes repeat attempts through Moxxi’s Big Encore. It does not establish Shadowpelt-specific costs or confirm that this arena has a red chest.
- At the terminal near the boss arena, pay the displayed cost to start Moxxi’s Big Encore.
- Defeat the boss, then collect the drops and any red chest that is available.
- Return to the terminal and pay again for another attempt, if you want to continue farming.
The general guide recommends using the highest Ultimate Vault Hunter rank you can clear comfortably. For Shadowpelt, the secondary guide also recommends making inventory space and using a fast-travel shortcut if available after your first clear. Check the terminal and arena in-game for the actual cost and chest availability.

Choose a rank by clear speed and survivability
A higher rank is only useful for your farming loop if you can still clear it comfortably. Compare your runs by clear time and how reliably you survive; the rank advice is general guidance, not a Shadowpelt-specific test result.

An official Borderlands 4 announcement listed Shadowpelt among the Triple Threat Weekly Big Encore bosses for August 6–13, 2026. That confirms a past rotation, not the current week’s lineup. The announcement says weekly rotations refresh server-side and that, after completing the main campaign, players can view them from the ECHO menu’s Map tab.
