A report dated August 10, 2025, described Brazil’s Wplace canvas as a “Metal Gear shrine.” The available report listing confirms that characterization, but does not establish what the artwork showed, where it appeared, who made it, or how long it remained. Wplace is an online map-based canvas with an interactive map and a “Paint” prompt on its current homepage.
What the report says—and what it does not establish
The headline “Brazil Turns Itself Into A Metal Gear Shrine On Wplace,” attributed to Alex Co. and dated August 10, 2025, presents the artwork as a Metal Gear-themed gathering on Wplace. The headline is evidence of how the report characterized the event, not proof that the artwork covered Brazil as a whole or remains visible today. Source: Wplace reference listing.

The accessible evidence does not identify the artwork’s exact location, depict its imagery, name its contributors, or give its duration or pixel count. Without the original article text or a verifiable contemporaneous image, details such as specific characters, scenes, or the size of the display cannot be responsibly supplied.
What Wplace is
Wplace’s official homepage currently presents an interactive map and the prompt “Paint,” supporting a high-level description of the service as a map-based canvas. That current interface does not document what was on the canvas in Brazil in August 2025, so it cannot independently verify the reported shrine or its contents. Wplace homepage.
