In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Dinraal travels through the northern Eldin region toward Tanagar Canyon, Naydra appears around Mount Lanayru and Lanayru Bay after you rescue it, and Farosh can be found around Lake Floria, Lake Hylia, or the Gerudo Highlands. Dragon appearances are tied to in-game time, but a particular ledge or shrine is a suggested vantage point—not a guaranteed spawn location.
Where to find each dragon
The routes below describe the original Breath of the Wild Hyrule map. They are not routes from Tears of the Kingdom. The specific starting points are farming strategies from gameplay guides; the sources do not establish one best location for every player.
| Dragon | Region and route | Suggested starting point | Important condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dinraal | From the Eldin mountain area through the Deplian Badlands and toward Tanagar Canyon. | Try Hebra Tower and look northeast after waiting until morning, or watch north from Tabantha Great Bridge near Shae Loya Shrine and Tabantha Bridge Stable around dawn. Thonky; Nintendo Life | Dinraal is associated with hazardous heat; Flamebreaker armor can help on a close approach. Thonky |
| Naydra | Mount Lanayru and the nearby Lanayru Bay area. | After the rescue, try Jitan Sa’mi Shrine and the mountain’s north base by Lanayru Bay, or travel from Dow Na’eh Shrine toward Lanayru Promenade and the cliffs. Thonky; Nintendo Life | Complete Naydra’s rescue at the Spring of Wisdom before trying to collect its parts. GameWith |
| Farosh | May appear around Lake Floria, Lake Hylia, or the Gerudo Highlands. | For a Lake Floria approach, try Shai Utoh Shrine, Lakeside Stable, and Floria Bridge. Another suggested setup is Lake Tower and the southern end of the Bridge of Hylia at night. Nintendo Life; Thonky | Farosh has multiple possible regions; a single farming site is not its only location. Rubber armor can help with its electrical hazard. Thonky |
When dragons appear
The GameFAQs route guide says dragons appear in their spawn areas between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. in-game, once per dragon per in-game day, with the daily count resetting at midnight. It describes specific listed times as approximate: a dragon may appear at another point within that night-to-morning window. Use the broad route and a clear vantage point rather than relying on an exact minute at one spot. GameFAQs
How to collect the dragon part you want
Each dragon can provide a scale, claw, fang shard, or horn shard. The drop depends on where your arrow hits:

Use the nearby shrine, tower, or stable that makes sense for your current route, then wait with a view of the dragon’s travel area. Guides offer different vantage points and timing strategies rather than a universally reliable single spot. For Naydra, the rescue encounter is a prerequisite; the other routes can be approached as described above without that special step. The GameFAQs guide’s wider time window is a better basis for waiting than treating one guide’s suggested dawn or nighttime setup as an exact spawn schedule. GameFAQs
