If you searched for “British voter Wordle,” the closest match is British Voter Quiz, a browser-playable HTML5 game by Autumn Chen. It asks players to guess how British voters voted in the 2024 general election, using profiles linked to British Election Study data. Its listing tags it as a Wordle game, but does not establish that it uses Wordle’s five-letter-word format or familiar rules.

What is the British voter Wordle?

British Voter Quiz is a released HTML5 browser game. Its listing poses the question, “Can you guess how British voters voted in the 2024 general elections?” and identifies the British Election Study (BES) as the source of its voter data. The game is credited to Autumn Chen and names the British Voter Bot by Jacob Weinbren as its foundation. See the game listing.

The Wordle label is a useful search clue, not proof that the quiz follows Wordle’s exact mechanics. The listing reviewed does not explain the number of rounds or guesses, whether play is daily, how answers are scored, or precisely how a result is calculated. Those details should be taken from the live game rather than assumed from its tag.

Where does the voter data come from?

The game’s source repository names the BES Internet Panel, combined waves 1–29, and ONS constituency codes among its data sources. Its British Voter Bot foundation describes generating voter profiles from BES survey data, combining demographic characteristics with political views. The Bot README says the BES has tracked British voting behaviour since 1964 and surveys tens of thousands of voters. Read the British Voter Bot project README; see the quiz source repository.

That description does not mean a profile shown in the game is a named, identifiable respondent or a verified record of one person’s ballot. Treat the profiles as a way to explore patterns in survey-derived information, not as proof of how a particular individual voted or a reliable formula for predicting an individual’s choice.

Survey questions and parties change across waves

BES documentation distinguishes questions about voting intention from questions about which party a respondent actually voted for. Wording and available party options vary by survey wave; options can also reflect the nations of the UK, including the SNP in Scotland and Plaid Cymru in Wales. The BES documentation reviewed is version 29.1, published in November 2024, and describes survey variables—not current voting procedure. Consult the British Election Study data documentation.

Because the underlying survey spans different elections and political contexts, party categories should not be treated as timeless. Nor should a profile derived from several waves be read as though every included question was asked in the same way at every election.

How to interpret a voter guess in the UK election system

In a UK general election, voters choose a candidate in their constituency. Under first past the post, the candidate with the most votes in that constituency becomes its MP. The game’s focus on how voters voted is therefore different from the separate question of how votes translate into seats. The UK Parliament has 650 MPs, and general elections usually take place every five years, according to GOV.UK’s current guidance. Read GOV.UK’s general-election guidance.

Votes and seats need not track each other in a simple one-to-one way: the result depends on how votes are distributed among candidates in individual constituencies. A quiz about voter profiles can prompt questions about patterns, but it is not by itself an account of constituency outcomes or the full election result.

Why voter profiles are more than left versus right

Political views and voting choices do not always fit one left-to-right line. NatCen’s Dividing Lines project uses twelve questions to identify six voter types and cautions against framing British politics simply as a struggle between left and right. The project is a separate analysis based on the British Social Attitudes survey, not the data source named by the quiz. It offers a useful reminder that people with different views can share common ground, and that a demographic or ideological label cannot tell the whole story of an individual voter. Who should play it—and what it can tell you

The quiz is a fit for players curious about the 2024 UK general election, survey data, or how combinations of personal characteristics and political views relate to voting patterns. Its data lineage makes it more than a generic word puzzle, but the available listing and project descriptions do not establish an accuracy score or a head-to-head comparison with other voter quizzes.

  • Useful for: exploring survey-derived voter profiles and thinking about how varied political choices can be.
  • Not established by the listing: a particular number of guesses, daily reset, scoring method, or quantified accuracy.
  • Not evidence of: a specific real person’s ballot or a dependable way to predict an individual’s vote.

Voting guidance is separate from the game

The quiz is not a guide to registering or casting a ballot. For current eligibility and procedure, GOV.UK says voters must be registered, at least 18 on polling day, meet citizenship and residence requirements, and not be legally excluded. The official guide also covers voter ID and postal and proxy voting. Check it for the rules that apply to your circumstances and the relevant election: GOV.UK voting and registration guidance.
