A directory entry or shared link shows that a project is being presented as playable in a browser; it does not verify that it launches reliably on your device, includes everything needed, or is available now.
What the browser listings actually establish
Several directories describe browser projects for the three games, and a Reddit post dated October 9, 2026, circulated links to them. Those are evidence that listings and links exist—not independent compatibility tests or confirmation of official releases. The available sources do not document a specific browser, device, build, or test session that would support the claim that the ports “work perfectly.”

“Vibe-coded” is also not established for all three. The descriptions instead use terms such as ports, decompilations and WebAssembly. Those labels describe a project’s stated approach; they do not, by themselves, establish who made it, whether it is complete, or how well it runs.
What is reported for each game
Halo: Combat Evolved
Foundplay lists a browser project and says its listing includes co-op and requires the player’s disc image. Recompiled Games describes a Halo project as a decompilation to WebAssembly. These directory descriptions are not independent confirmation that a particular build launches or that co-op works as advertised.

In an October 2, 2026 report, Retro Handhelds said Apollo – Halo CE Decomp had been released for Windows, Linux and Android, with browser and handheld versions following. The report says the browser build it describes does not include game files and extracts them when it starts. This is a report about that build, not a requirement that can be assumed for every Halo listing. The sources do not establish the requirements for every version, and they do not document a compatibility test.
The Simpsons: Hit & Run
Foundplay lists a browser port, while Recompiled Games describes a decompilation to WebAssembly. The available descriptions do not establish that either listing is an official release, demonstrate that it runs reliably, or specify a universal requirement for game files. Do not infer that the Halo disc-image requirement also applies here.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Recompiled Games describes a Vice City decompilation using reVC to WebAssembly. A Reddit post also circulated a link, but a shared link is not evidence of a working build or official status. The available sources do not establish a universal file requirement or document a tested browser-and-device combination for this project.
Why “playable in your browser” is not a compatibility guarantee
A browser project may be a port, an engine, or a decompilation that depends on game data files. Radiant Optimizer’s directory notes that projects vary in readiness and that some engines need data files from a copy of the game the player already owns. Whether a particular page opens, loads the game, accepts input, or supports multiplayer depends on that specific project and setup.

- It may say "promotional copy not for resale" on cover but it is legal to sell in worldwide. It was removed from Xbox One Console combo.
To substantiate “works perfectly,” a tester would need to identify the exact build, browser and device, say whether required files were supplied, and report what was tested. The cited directory listings, report and post do not provide that level of compatibility evidence for all three titles.
What to check before trying a listing
- Identify the project and build. Do not treat a directory entry or reposted link as an official project page.
- Read that project’s own requirements. In particular, check whether it requires game data or a disc image. The documented Halo descriptions differ, and the evidence does not support carrying one project’s requirements over to another game.
- Keep expectations specific. A page loading is not proof that the game is complete, controls work, co-op functions, or performance is reliable on your browser and device.
- Consider rights as well as files. Recompiled Games warns generally that rebuilding a game can copy protected code and that publishing may infringe even if game files are omitted. That is a general caution, not a legal ruling about these projects or a determination under any particular jurisdiction.
So, are we cooked?
Not on the evidence available. The listings make these browser projects worth noticing, but they do not prove that three finished, officially supported games now run flawlessly in any browser. The strongest grounded description is that browser versions or adaptations have been listed or reported, with project-specific details and requirements that still need to be checked.
