Walkthroughs report that taking stash loot instead fails the request and makes Panas hostile; they list 1,300 K as the completion reward.
How to start Budmo!
Go to the bar at Slag Heap in the Garbage region and speak with Misha and the men beside it. Agree to sit down for a drink to receive the side mission. Walkthroughs recommend having three bottles of Cossacks Vodka and one Anti-Radiation medicine before setting out.

Use the PDA’s map and mission log to keep track of objectives and landmarks. GSC Game World describes it as a place to view your location, quest markers, caches, and other markers, as well as the mission log. Its support article calls it “A PDA or pocket PC is a stalker’s best friend in the Zone.” GSC Game World Support: PDA
Where are the Budmo! stash locations?
The three stashes are around Slag Heap. Their contents are useful, but the walkthroughs say taking them changes the quest outcome. If you want to complete the request, find the locations without collecting their contents.

Power Transmission
From Slag Heap, travel east to the intersection and look for the pylon. The bag is at its northwest corner. Climb the log and jump onto the plank to reach it. Walkthroughs list a Moonlight artifact, a Flash artifact, and a Hilka Detector inside. Leave them there if you intend to finish the request through Panas.
Concrete Blocks
Return toward Slag Heap, go west over the hills toward the containers, then continue northwest to the concrete rubble. Look for a small concrete ring covered by wooden planks. Break the planks to access the bag. The listed contents are an RNBW 2X Scope, a Pistol Suppressor, an undamaged M10 Gordon, and ammunition. Mutant rats may attack nearby.
Poisonous Hole and Panas Shun
From the concrete rubble, head north to the road, then east and northeast toward the abandoned vehicles. Continue northwest toward the railway tracks and then west. Look for a tunnel entrance hidden behind a bush near wreckage, west of the Poisonous Hole anomaly area. A walkthrough cautions against following the road west from the concrete stash because of radiation; navigate by landmarks and check the PDA map.
The guides place Panas Shun inside the tunnel. If you left the earlier stash contents in place, speak with him and give him the Anti-Radiation medicine to complete the request.

Should you loot the stashes or complete the request?
The choice is between keeping the stash contents and following the reported quest-completion route. These outcomes come from walkthroughs, not independent testing, and the sources do not establish a definitive value comparison between the loot and the reported reward.
| Choice | Reported result | What you get or give up |
|---|---|---|
| Leave the stash contents; give Panas the medicine | Walkthroughs report that the request completes. | Reported reward: 1,300 K. The three stashes remain unlooted. |
| Take stash contents | Walkthroughs report mission failure and Panas becoming hostile. | You take the listed stash items, but forgo the reported completion reward and peaceful handover. |
One walkthrough characterizes the decision as a greed test and says the stash contents may be worth more than 1,300 K. That is the guide’s judgment, not a verified currency valuation. If quest completion matters more than keeping the items, do not loot the bags.
What if the markers or journal objective get stuck?
GSC Game World’s Major Patch 1.2 notes document a fix for a past Budmo! tracking problem: “Fixed an issue where several stashes, markers, and journal objectives were not completed/removed after completing Budmo!” GSC Game World Support: Major Patch 1.2 notes
If a marker or objective appears stuck, check both the PDA map and mission log. The patch note records a fix, but does not guarantee that every current save or game build is free from quest-tracking issues. GSC’s beginner guide also recommends selecting a task in the quest log, marking locations on the map, and preparing supplies before a trip; these are general tips rather than Budmo!-specific requirements.
