To complete the event, collect six kinds of eggs, learn recipes through several different routes, and craft the required DIYs before Bunny Day itself. Some seasonal items are sold at Nook’s Cranny rather than crafted.
When is Bunny Day in Animal Crossing?
Bunny Day is tied to Easter, not a fixed calendar date. The most recent completed event in the available schedule ran from March 29 through April 5, 2026, according to Animal Crossing World’s 2026 event guide. Nintendo’s Bunny Day poll also names April 5 as the celebration date “this year,” but its extracted page text does not specify a year. Check the schedule for the relevant year rather than assuming April 5 is always Bunny Day.
This guide covers the Bunny Day event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Nintendo’s support page listed version 3.0.3, released April 29, 2026, as the latest update at the time of the available update information. The 2026 notes describe crafting conveniences, not a changed Bunny Day recipe set. Nintendo’s version history also records an earlier adjustment to seasonal egg appearance rates, so launch-era complaints about egg frequency should not be treated as current spawn-rate data.
How do you get Bunny Day DIY recipes?
Recipes come from multiple sources. At the event’s start, talk to Zipper T. Bunny to get the Bunny Day Bed recipe. During the event, look for egg balloons with a slingshot, check message bottles on the beach, and talk to villagers who approach you. Some clothing recipes unlock automatically as you collect enough eggs of a particular type.

- Show off your paradise – play on the same system with a total of 4 people, or play together online or over local wireless for fun with up to 8 players
- Event opening: Speak to Zipper for the Bunny Day Bed recipe.
- During the event: Check egg balloons, beach message bottles, and villagers for recipe cards.
- Egg collection: Collect enough of each egg type to unlock its matching shell, outfit, and shoes recipes. Unlock all six egg clothing sets to receive the Egg Party Dress and Egg Party Hat recipes.
- Bunny Day itself: Speak to Zipper again for the Bunny Day Arch recipe and exchange one of each egg type for the Bunny Day Basket.
- Crafting progression: Craft the other Bunny Day DIY recipes to receive the Wobbling Zipper Toy recipe. Craft the other event recipes, including the toy, to receive the Bunny Day Wand recipe.
Recipe discovery and item completion are different steps: for the final Zipper rewards, craft the recipes rather than simply learning them. The wand also requires the Wobbling Zipper Toy and three Star Fragments. The event-day egg exchange can help if you have too many of one egg and need another type.
Where do you find all six Bunny Day eggs?
Each egg type has its own source. Search the island using the matching method below; there is no single action that produces every kind. The available event guide does not establish a current-version spawn rate, so these sources are more reliable advice than a promised number of eggs per day.

What are the Bunny Day furniture and event DIY recipes?
The following materials and item spellings follow Nintendo Life’s 2026 recipe table, with a second recipe reference in Nookipedia’s Bunny Day index. The Bunny Day Bed is obtained from Zipper at the event opening; the Bunny Day Basket is an exchange reward, not a standard craft.

Which Bunny Day items do you buy instead of craft?
Nook’s Cranny has a seasonal Bunny Day slot for five items listed by Nintendo Life. These are shop purchases, not egg-based DIY crafts; the prices below are the guide’s reported prices, and the items are seasonal rather than year-round stock.
| Shop item | Reported price |
|---|---|
| Bunny Day Candy | 1,300 Bells |
| Bunny Day Garden Flag | 1,500 Bells |
| Bunny Day Planter Box | 2,300 Bells |
| Bunny Day Topiary | 2,000 Bells |
| Bunny Day Tree | 3,800 Bells |
What do you need to craft the Bunny Day wand?
You need the Wobbling Zipper toy and three Star Fragments to craft the Bunny Day wand. First craft the other Bunny Day DIYs, including the toy, to get the wand recipe from the event’s crafting progression. The Star Fragments are not Bunny Day eggs, so save them separately while gathering the six egg types.
