Yes. Cairn is available on PC and PS5. The Game Bakers’ official blog announced the game was out on January 30, 2026; PlayStation’s product listing gives January 29, 2026 for PS5. Those are the dates published by each source, rather than one universal date across both platforms. The publisher directs players to Steam, PlayStation, GOG and the Epic Games Store. Why was Cairn delayed?
On October 2, 2025, The Game Bakers moved the planned PC and PS5 launch to Q1 2026 so the team could spend more time debugging and optimizing the game. The developer said the content was complete and the additional weeks would go toward “optimization, debug, and polish.” It described a quality-focused delay, not a change in the game’s scope. The Game Bakers’ October 2 announcement did not name an individual speaker.
In December 2025, the publisher announced January 29, 2026 as the PC and PS5 release date, replacing the broader Q1 window. Its announcement also detailed Standard and Deluxe editions. The date and edition announcement preceded the game’s January release.

What kind of game is Cairn?
Cairn is a survival-climbing game from The Game Bakers, the studio behind Furi and Haven. Players guide climber Aava on an attempt to make the first ascent of Mount Kami. Rather than simply following a fixed route, players read the rock face, choose a way across it, place hands and feet, and manage pitons and other resources over the course of a long climb. The official game page describes the open-ended ascent and its climbing focus.
That combination distinguishes the game’s design priorities: it gives attention to individual limb placement and route choice while also asking players to manage resources. These are design characteristics, not a comparative verdict against other climbing games.

Platforms, upcoming content and future releases
Platforms
PC and PS5 were the announced launch platforms. The Game Bakers announced a Nintendo Switch 2 version for early 2027 on September 15, 2026; that is a future release announcement, not evidence that the game is currently available on Switch 2. The Switch 2 announcement gives the announced window.
Free DLC and Free Roam
The developer announced free DLC called On the Trail: Deep Water, featuring three additional climbing locations, alongside a Free Roam mode. Its September 20, 2026 post scheduled both for October 29, 2026. That date is still in the future as of October 8, 2026, and the announced timing could change. The developer’s DLC announcement describes the planned content.

Accessibility options
PlayStation’s official page lists adjustable difficulty, controller remapping, and options to play without rapid button presses, motion controls, vibration or adaptive trigger effects. The developer’s January 2026 accessibility post also describes readable subtitles, a UI that does not rely on color alone, an option to skip the piton timing mini-game, and visual breathing feedback. The available information does not establish that every platform has identical options, so check the relevant platform’s current listing or build. What is included in the Deluxe Edition?
The December 2025 Deluxe Edition announcement lists a 30-page Kami travel book in English and French, keepsakes and wallpapers. What does the demo player figure mean?
In July 2025, The Game Bakers said more than 500,000 players had played the Cairn demo. That is a historical pre-release demo figure from the developer, not a sales total, launch-unit count or current player count. The July 2025 announcement is the source for that statistic.
