Other launch roster entries were associated with specific edition or preorder skins. These are historical launch routes, not a complete list of what can be unlocked in October 2026: check the in-game Operators and Progression menus for current names, requirements, and offer availability.
How Black Ops 6 Operator unlocks work
Activision’s October 16, 2024 launch overview described two factions, Rogue Black Ops and Crimson One, with some Operators available immediately, others earned through progression, and selected skins tied to paid or promotional entitlements. An Operator and an Operator skin are not the same thing: a skin changes an Operator’s appearance, while the base Operator is the character entry itself.
The launch overview said “over 20” Operators and its faction summary counted 12 Rogue Black Ops and 10 Crimson One. However, its later Operator Overview labels Rogue Black Ops as 11, and the names shown for that faction also total 11. The official launch page therefore contains a count discrepancy; these figures should not be treated as a current complete roster count.
Operators available immediately at launch
The October 2024 launch overview listed these eight as immediately available:

Operators earned through launch level progression
These are the player-level routes announced at launch, not a guarantee that every live account or mode has identical current availability.

Activision’s October 23, 2024 level-up guide says XP earned in Multiplayer and Zombies contributes to progression, and points players to the in-game Progression tile to review unlocks and required XP. Activision Support says Warzone also contributes to overall progression beginning with Season 1. For the requirement currently shown on your account, use the Progression tile rather than relying on the original launch levels.

Launch roster entries tied to skins or promotional entitlements
The launch roster also named Operators whose listed routes concerned particular skins or promotional content. Those routes describe dated entitlements, not proof that the offer can still be claimed or purchased.

Activision’s bonus-content tracker records these edition and preorder associations. Whether a particular entitlement is available now depends on the current game and offer; the historical announcement alone does not establish present availability.

Post-launch Operators and time-limited routes
Black Ops 6’s roster expanded after launch. Activision’s Season 1 announcement listed Sev as a Battle Pass Operator and Goliath as a BlackCell Operator; it also associated The Replacer and 2025 CDL Competitor Operators with bundles. These are examples of dated post-launch routes, not confirmation that the Battle Pass, BlackCell, or bundle offers remain obtainable today.
How to check a current unlock on your account
- Open the in-game Operators menu to see the roster and whether an Operator is available on your account.
- Open the Progression tile to inspect level-based unlocks and required XP.
- For a skin or offer-based character route, check the current in-game offer details. A past Vault Edition, preorder, Battle Pass, BlackCell, or store-bundle listing does not by itself establish that it can still be claimed.
What happens to Operators when you Prestige?
Activision Support states that players unlock eight Base Operators during the Level 1–55 journey. Entering Prestige resets a player to Level 1 and relocks most level unlocks, but Operator unlocks do not relock. Progression is associated with the Activision account and continues across linked platforms, according to the same support article.
