Before Genshin Impact Version 5.0 launched, a July 2024 community roundup named Kachina, Mualani, and Kinich as Natlan characters expected in the update. HoYoverse later confirmed all three as the first playable Natlan characters. The roundup’s details about their elements, weapons, and traversal mechanics were leaks—not official pre-release confirmation.
Which Natlan characters were rumored for Version 5.0?
A roundup posted in the r/Genshin_Impact_Leaks community around July 2024 listed three characters as expected for Version 5.0:
- Kachina: rumored to be Geo and use a polearm, with a special land vehicle.
- Mualani: rumored to be Hydro and use a catalyst, with a water traversal mechanic.
- Kinich: rumored to be Dendro and use a claymore, with a grappling-hook mechanic.
Those element, weapon, and movement details came from the community roundup’s account of leaks. The post cautioned that leaked information might not be final, so they should be read as pre-release claims rather than confirmed descriptions of the game.
What did HoYoverse confirm?
In its August 16, 2024 announcement, HoYoverse said Version 5.0 would introduce Natlan, Teyvat’s sixth major nation, and was scheduled to launch on August 28, 2024. The official Version 5.0 livestream summary identified Kachina, Mualani, and Kinich as the first playable Natlan characters. That confirms the roundup’s central roster prediction; it does not turn every leaked detail into an official pre-release claim.

How to read these Version 5.0 leaks now
This is a retrospective on rumors circulated before the update, not a current leak roundup. The three names in the rumor matched the characters official materials identified as Natlan’s first playable characters. The specific mechanics and character attributes above remain attributed to the community post’s pre-release leak claims; the official confirmation cited here establishes the roster, not the provenance or accuracy of each individual leak detail.
