Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched on PC on October 25, 2024. Ahead of release, Activision announced a PC launch trailer, a preload beginning October 21, and different unlock times for Microsoft PC, Battle.net and Steam. Its launch-era PC specifications ranged from an 8 GB RAM minimum tier to a Competitive / 4K Ultra tier listing an RTX 3080 or RTX 4070, 16 GB RAM and 10 GB of video memory.
What did the PC launch trailer promote?
The official PC Launch Trailer listing, published October 15, 2024, promoted 4K graphics and ultrawide support, AMD FSR 3.1 at launch, crossplay and RICOCHET Anti-Cheat. Its description also advertised more than 500 PC customization options. These are publisher claims about features and customization, not independent performance tests or a measured count.
Activision’s October 15 PC launch announcement also highlighted AMD game integration and identified Beenox as the PC lead developer. The game’s three launch modes were Campaign, Multiplayer and Round-Based Zombies. Activision’s game page lists 16 Multiplayer maps at launch—12 core 6v6 maps and four Strike maps playable 2v2 or 6v6—and two Zombies maps.
When did Black Ops 6 preload and unlock on PC?
The schedule below is the historical 2024 announcement, not a currently available preload window. Activision said digital PC pre-order players could preload Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies beginning October 21 at 9 a.m. PT. Storefront release times differed:

Blizzard’s launch-preparation article said preload also applied to purchasers and subscribers to select Game Pass plans. For players with an existing Call of Duty installation, the preload could arrive as an automatic update that included the new interface; players without an installation could start the download through their storefront. Warzone was not automatically included in the default Black Ops 6 download on most platforms.
What PC system requirements did Activision list?
Activision’s launch article gave three hardware tiers. The later PC requirements support page, marked July 2, 2025, explains the intended targets: Recommended aims for 60 FPS in most situations at high settings; Competitive targets high FPS on a high-refresh monitor; Ultra targets high FPS in 4K. These are stated targets, not independent benchmark results or a guarantee for every system and scene.

Shared requirements and important qualifications
- All three launch tiers list broadband internet and an SSD. The 102 GB available-at-launch figure is for Black Ops 6, not Warzone.
- The October 2024 launch article listed Windows 10 64-bit for Minimum, and Windows 10 or Windows 11 64-bit for Recommended and Competitive / 4K Ultra. Activision Support advises using the latest Windows versions.
- Activision Support additionally specifies DirectX 12 compatibility and says supported processors are Intel or AMD CPUs with AVX. It warns that the requirements apply to desktop PCs; laptop parts with similar model names may differ or be unsupported.
- Mandatory updates may require additional storage beyond the launch listing. The support page says specifications are valid for product launch and may be updated.
Activision Support’s driver advice is the relevant source for later recommendations; the driver versions printed in the 2024 launch article should not be treated as current guidance. The listed GPU models describe the announced tiers, not a present-day buying recommendation.

Activision lists October 25, 2024 as the release date and names PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Microsoft PC Store, Steam, Battle.net and Game Pass among the platforms. Development was led by Treyarch in partnership with Raven Software, with Beenox leading the PC version.
