If there’s no relevant service event, work through device compatibility, app updates and your network before reinstalling or contacting support. Activision’s available status information does not confirm a specific July 21 outage, so this guide does not treat one as acknowledged.
Check Call of Duty: Mobile server status first
Before changing device settings, open Activision’s Online Services page, refresh it, and check the game and event options for a known issue. Activision also recommends following @ATVIAssist for current status updates. The page is dynamic: check it at the time you are having trouble, and note any region or event information it shows. Not seeing a COD Mobile event there does not establish that every player or region is unaffected.
Activision’s general status guidance says, “For any outages, we’ll let you know as soon as services are back online.” That is general guidance, not confirmation of a particular COD Mobile incident. Don’t assume an outage from individual reports alone; if Activision reports a service event, wait for its update before treating local device changes as the likely fix.
If the app will not launch, freezes or shows a black screen
Activision’s troubleshooting guidance recommends testing the game after each step, so you can tell whether a change helped. Its article, dated February 25, 2026, lists these minimum device requirements: Android devices need at least 2 GB of RAM and Android 6.0 or later; iOS devices need at least 2 GB of RAM and iOS 15.0 or later. These are compatibility minimums, not a guarantee of smooth performance on every device. See Activision’s COD Mobile troubleshooting tips.

- Restart your device, then try opening the game again.
- Check the platform app store for a Call of Duty: Mobile update and install it if available.
- Install any available operating-system update for your device.
- On Android, open your device’s app or application storage settings, select Call of Duty: Mobile, and clear the app cache. Menu names vary by device; clear the cache, not app data, unless you understand the consequences.
- On iOS, Activision recommends deleting and reinstalling the app. Sign back in with the same account; Activision says this reinstates progress and game data.
If you are stuck loading, cannot log in or have connection trouble
Call of Duty: Mobile requires a network connection. Activision recommends using a strong Wi-Fi connection and suggests restarting your wireless router if Wi-Fi is problematic. Restarting your mobile device can also refresh its connection. Its Online Services guidance additionally recommends checking connection speed and limiting other applications that use substantial bandwidth.
- Check whether other apps and websites can connect on the same device. If they cannot, troubleshoot the connection before focusing on the game.
- If you are on Wi-Fi, move closer to the router if possible and restart the existing router. Wait for it to reconnect, then retry the game.
- Close other bandwidth-heavy apps or downloads while testing COD Mobile.
- If available, try another trusted Wi-Fi network or mobile data. If the game works on one connection but not another, that comparison points toward a local network issue; it is a diagnostic clue, not a guaranteed fix.
- Check Activision’s status page again if the problem continues, especially if other players are reporting similar trouble.
When to contact Activision Support
If the status check, compatibility check, app and system updates, and another network do not resolve the issue, use the Call of Duty: Mobile support hub or the help and support options in the app, if you can access them. Include details that help identify where the failure occurs:

- Device model and operating-system version
- App version, if known, and your country or region
- Whether you are using Wi-Fi or mobile data
- The exact error message, or what appears on the screen
- When the problem began and the troubleshooting steps you have already tried
