Xbox announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III joined Game Pass on July 24, 2024, for Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate. That announcement is historical: it does not confirm the game is still in the catalogue in your region today. Check the live Game Pass catalogue for your region and plan before subscribing or downloading.

Which Game Pass plans were included?
Xbox named Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate in its July 2024 announcement. That records which plans were included at launch; it does not establish that the game remains available on those plans now. Catalogue availability can change, so confirm the listing shown for your account and region.
Can you play it with Xbox Cloud Gaming?
Cloud access was announced separately from the July launch. Xbox said Modern Warfare III would come to cloud gaming through Game Pass Ultimate beginning October 25, 2024. This is the announced cloud start date, not the original Game Pass launch date. See Xbox Wire’s cloud announcement.

- ADAPT OR DIE IN A FIGHT AGAINST THE ULTIMATE THREAT

- One of the greatest collections of Multiplayer maps ever. Launching with new Ground War maps boasting innovative play spaces and the epic return and evolution of the popular War Mode
What do you need to play?
- Platform: The official listing names Windows, Xbox, and PlayStation. Specific compatible models can vary; check the store listing for your device.
- Accounts and connection: The listing requires an internet connection and an Activision account. It says a mobile number linked to the account may be required, rather than making that a universal requirement.
- Subscription access: If you plan to play through Game Pass, confirm the game’s current availability for your region and subscription plan.
Should you subscribe, buy a copy, or check first?
The right route depends on whether the game is currently included for you and how you want to play. The official announcements confirm historical Game Pass access, but do not establish current catalogue status, subscription prices, retail prices, or current purchase offers.
