What was Modern Warfare update 1.52?
UpdateCrazy’s January 26, 2022 archive presents the release under the Modern Warfare Update 1.52 / Warzone 1.52 heading and says it was available for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. However, the detailed changes are introduced as Warzone 1.52 and describe Caldera and core Battle Royale modes. Treat them as reported Warzone fixes, not as a verified list of changes to the standalone Modern Warfare campaign or multiplayer.
Activision’s current patch-note index does not expose a legacy 1.52 entry in the content reviewed. The list below is therefore attributed to the secondary archive; its full contents are not independently confirmed here as official Activision text.
Update 1.52 fixes reported by the archive
Caldera collision and map behavior
- Exploitable collision: Fixed collision issues with various Caldera elements that reportedly let players exploit the map, peek through objects, or shoot through them.
- Pool fall-through: Fixed a bug that could make players fall into a “bottomless pit of despair” when trying to enter a pool. The humorous wording comes from the archive’s description of the issue.
Stability and match crashes
- Xbox guide-button instability: Addressed instability caused by pressing the Xbox home button twice while in-game.
- Non-ASCII character instability: Addressed instability caused by typing non-ASCII characters; the archive gives ©, ®, ™, and ∅ as examples.
- Live-match crashes: Addressed a bug that caused live matches to crash.
Menus, Store, and respawns
- Menu flicker: Fixed an additional menu-screen flicker issue.
- Buy-back respawn loadout: Addressed a bug that allowed a player to respawn via buy back with part of their original loadout.
- Store bundle images: Fixed placeholder images that could appear in some Store bundle previews and/or purchases.
Battle Royale public event
- Second Loadout Public Event: Addressed the failure of the second Loadout Public Event to occur in core Battle Royale modes.
What the patch list does—and does not—establish
The reported fixes span map collision, stability, crashes, interface and Store display, buy-back respawns, and a Battle Royale event. Because the archive labels the list as Warzone 1.52 and its examples are tied to Caldera and Battle Royale, it does not establish that the same fixes changed Modern Warfare’s campaign or standard multiplayer.

Nor does version 1.52 indicate that every later problem was resolved. Activision Support’s known-issues page, dated June 21, 2024 in the record reviewed, listed a separate PS5 Multiplayer Pack installation-suspended problem. That later report is not evidence that the 2022 update addressed it. Activision describes the page as “a running list of issues that have been identified or reported in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and are either under investigation or scheduled to be fixed.”
