Which platforms and editions are covered?
Activision lists Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, and PC storefronts including the Microsoft Store, Battle.net, and Steam. Its FAQ confirms Game Pass access to the standard edition, but that does not guarantee the title is in the live catalog in every region or remains available on a particular date. Check Xbox’s current catalog for your account’s region.
A physical Xbox Cross-Gen Edition is another purchase route, but its disc works on Xbox Series X and Xbox One—not Xbox Series S. See Activision’s edition and compatibility information.

- ADAPT OR DIE IN A FIGHT AGAINST THE ULTIMATE THREAT
- Combat means making choices — different loadouts, different paths through the mission. Combat missions that provide more player choice. There is no one-size-fits-all solution – it is your choice whether to take the stealthy approach or go loud taking on any and all foes.
- One of the greatest collections of Multiplayer maps ever. Launching with new Ground War maps boasting innovative play spaces and the epic return and evolution of the popular War Mode
Does Xbox’s later Call of Duty policy change MWIII’s arrival?
No. In an April 21, 2026 policy update, Xbox said future Call of Duty games would no longer launch into Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass on day one; it said those new titles would instead arrive around the following holiday season. Xbox also said existing Call of Duty games already in the catalog would remain. This later policy does not undo Modern Warfare III’s July 2024 arrival, nor does it establish the game’s current availability in a specific region. Xbox’s April 21, 2026 policy update provides that context.
