What is the setting and release date?
In July 2026, TheWrap reported that the film would be set in the Modern Warfare universe and was scheduled to open in theaters on June 30, 2028. That is the currently reported theatrical date, not a guarantee; film schedules can change. TheWrap report

Why does the Modern Warfare setting matter?
Call of Duty began in 2003 as a World War II game, according to the AP.
