Yes—Cfx.re’s Alchemist can convert supported Grand Theft Auto V Legacy 3D assets for FiveM for GTAV Enhanced. It is not a tool for installing mods into Rockstar’s GTA Online service: FiveM is a separate multiplayer modification framework. FiveM for GTAV Enhanced entered Early Access on July 21, 2026, and remains labeled Early Access on Cfx.re’s current page.
What Alchemist converts
Cfx.re announced Alchemist on November 20, 2025, as a way to prepare existing Legacy assets for FiveM Enhanced. Its Asset Conversion feature scans a selected folder and its subfolders for supported assets, converts them, and copies surrounding files such as scripts, interfaces, and configuration files without changing those files. Cfx says selecting a server’s resources directory as the input creates a replacement resources folder compatible with FiveM Enhanced. See Cfx.re’s Alchemist announcement.
Current Alchemist documentation lists these supported file types:
- YDR
- YTD
- YFT
- YPT
- YDD
Cfx lists Windows 11 as the requirement. The listed formats are 3D asset types; the documentation does not establish that Alchemist converts every file or component in a FiveM resource.

Conversion and refinement are different jobs
Asset Conversion
Use conversion to prepare supported GTAV Legacy assets for FiveM Enhanced. It processes a folder and its contents, converting supported assets while copying adjacent files without modifying them.
Refinement
Alchemist’s separate Refinement function updates older Legacy assets for formatting and compatibility. It is not a substitute for converting assets to Enhanced, and Cfx’s documentation describes it as a distinct operation.

How to handle escrowed assets
The graphical interface may stop when it encounters an escrowed asset. Cfx documents the command-line interface as an alternative: it skips escrowed assets and records them in its output report. That makes the CLI useful when a folder contains protected files, but it does not convert those skipped assets.
Alchemist also has a Relaxed Mode. It skips some strict validation and can produce slightly different assets after automatic corrections. Use it with that trade-off in mind rather than assuming the output will be identical to a strict conversion.

What still needs checking before a server migration
Alchemist copies neighboring scripts and configuration files; it does not rewrite them. Cfx says existing FiveM scripts written in Lua, JavaScript, and C# are intended to remain backward-compatible on Enhanced, but that is not a guarantee that every server resource will work unchanged. Asset conversion alone does not cover other platform changes.
For the rest of the migration, follow Cfx’s FiveM Enhanced onboarding guide and its separate migration documentation, which covers removed features, breaking changes, new configuration variables, and behavior differences. FiveM Enhanced is still in Early Access, so availability and behavior may change.

FiveM Enhanced is not GTA Online
The word “Online” in the original question can cause confusion. Cfx describes FiveM as a multiplayer modification framework and says it does not alter the GTAV installation. Alchemist is documented for converting assets used with FiveM for GTAV Enhanced—not for adding mods to Rockstar’s GTA Online service. Cfx’s FiveM page currently identifies the Enhanced version as Early Access.
FiveM’s server capabilities are also separate from GTA Online’s standard player count. Cfx says FiveM OneSync can support 2,048 players on a single server; its update notes that a Platinum Element Club subscription is required to access that slot count. This is a FiveM server capability, not a claim about GTA Online.
