Player reports suggest Future Gohan’s grab can interact with an opponent’s simultaneous grab, but the usual grab-clash struggle may not appear. Accounts describe either an alternate clash animation or Future Gohan winning automatically. Neither behavior has been independently verified here, and no official explanation has been found.
What players mean when they say Future Gohan cannot do grab clashes
The claim appears to be about the visible, standard grab-clash sequence—not necessarily a total inability for Future Gohan’s grab to meet an opponent’s grab. In a typical clash, players expect the characters to enter a recognizable struggle. Community posts say Future Gohan’s interactions may resolve differently instead.

That distinction matters: “can’t do a grab clash” can describe the missing animation or struggle, even if the grabs still collide and produce a clash-like outcome.
What players have reported
An alternate clash animation
An October 2024 discussion with linked footage describes Future Gohan using what some players call a “dash clash” instead of the expected grab-clash animation. Replies disagree about the label, so “alternate clash animation” is the more neutral description. The footage and discussion document player interpretation, not an official definition of the interaction. Read the discussion and view its linked footage.

An automatic win
In a May 2026 discussion, players say Future Gohan wins the interaction automatically rather than entering the usual struggle. Some commenters attribute that outcome to how the character is coded and claim his grab is a few frames quicker than regular grabs. Those are community claims, not verified source-code information or established frame data. Read the May 2026 discussion.
Is this intentional, a bug, or a character-specific rule?
The available sources do not establish the technical cause. They do not show whether the behavior is an intentional character rule, a bug, or a limitation in how the interaction is implemented. There is also no official statement or named statistic about this specific mechanic in the sources reviewed.

Bandai Namco’s May 25, 2026 update notice announces a free update scheduled for May 26 and gives Switch and Switch 2 version information, but its reviewed contents do not mention a Future Gohan grab-clash fix or explanation. That omission does not establish how the interaction behaves on every platform or game build.

The most careful answer is that players have reported Future Gohan’s grab clashes looking or resolving differently from the standard struggle: an alternate clash animation or an automatic win. The reports do not prove that he cannot clash at all, and the behavior has not been independently reproduced here on a current build.
