Ubisoft’s patch notes say Mozzie’s Pest can capture it in that state, but the capture does not stop the Ratero’s timer or explosion.
When can Mozzie capture Flores’ drone?
Mozzie’s Pest can capture Flores’ RCE-Ratero only when it is anchored. It cannot capture the Ratero while it is moving forward under remote control, according to Ubisoft’s Year 6 Season 1 Crimson Heist patch-note addendum.
Ubisoft describes a Pest as a device that latches onto an enemy drone and begins an override sequence to give Mozzie control. Flores’ RCE-Ratero, by contrast, moves until triggered, then attaches to a surface, arms itself, and explodes. The important distinction is the Ratero’s state: moving means no capture; anchored means it can be captured.
Does capturing it stop the explosion?
No. The same Ubisoft addendum specifically says Pests do not interrupt the Ratero’s timer or explosion after capturing it. A successful capture therefore does not make the explosive sequence safe or cancel the blast. Do not treat the captured Ratero like an ordinary drone that Mozzie can keep and operate without its detonation risk.

What Ubisoft’s patch note establishes
The interaction-specific wording comes from Ubisoft’s March 16, 2021 addendum: “Mozzie’s Pests only capture Flores’ RCE-Ratero Charge when it’s anchored” and “Mozzie’s Pests are not interrupting the timer/explosion after catching Flores’ RCE-Ratero Charge.” Ubisoft’s operator descriptions provide the broader context: Mozzie’s Pests override captured drones, while Flores’ Ratero anchors before exploding.
That dated patch note establishes the mechanic addressed at the time, but it does not by itself confirm whether a later live patch changed the interaction. For certainty on the current build, check current in-game behavior or newer Rainbow Six Siege patch notes.
