Yes: Nintendo’s Alarmo can run an unofficial Doom demonstration. The project, Alarmo Doom, loads a shareware build onto the motion-sensing alarm clock through its USB loader. The demonstrated version is a constrained novelty—not a Nintendo release—and its “smooth” performance has not been established by a published frame-rate benchmark.
What is Alarmo Doom?
Alarmo Doom is a project by GaryOderNichts described in its repository as “Doom for the Nintendo Alarmo.” It adapts Doom to Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo, a device designed primarily as an interactive alarm clock. Alarmo Docs reproduces Nintendo’s official FAQ description: “Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo is an interactive alarm clock that’s designed to make waking up fun and add some Nintendo ambience to your home.”

This is an unofficial demonstration, not a game made, endorsed, or supported by Nintendo. The project calls for the shareware doom1.wad; it does not indicate that the commercial game is included. Follow the project repository for its prerequisites and current files.

How does Doom get onto the clock?
The project’s documented method has two stages: build the program with the required game data, then transfer its output through Alarmo’s USB loading mode. The repository instructs users to include its submodules, provide doom1.wad, and run make. It then describes entering USB loading mode with three buttons, connecting the clock to a PC, and copying the generated a.bin and MarkFile to the drive exposed by Alarmo. The game should start after disconnecting the device.

- Make waking up fun with Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo
That published loading process is distinct from the earlier hardware investigation. Tom’s Hardware reports that the exploratory work involved opening the clock and connecting to its board, but the later USB method does not require modifying the final Alarmo. Its report also says the shareware WAD is compressed and unpacked into memory at boot to work around USB-loader memory restrictions. For exact button instructions and build requirements, use the repository rather than relying on a generalized summary.
What is it like to play?
Reports describe using Alarmo’s top dial to aim or turn, with the physical buttons serving as game controls; the notification button is reported as a shooting control. Coverage differs on the detailed button mapping, so the general description is more reliable than assuming a single definitive layout. The demonstrated build has no audio support, according to Tom’s Hardware and HotHardware.

Alarmo’s motion sensing and game-themed scenes are part of its alarm-clock design, but they should not be mistaken for a purpose-built Doom controller. The demo repurposes the dial and buttons for a recognizable but limited way to play.
Does Doom really run smoothly on Alarmo?
The video and reporting make for an entertaining demonstration, but the available project and coverage do not provide a dependable frame-rate measurement or another named performance benchmark. “Smoothly” is therefore a description in the topic’s wording, not a verified technical result. No numerical frame rate, resolution, or performance comparison is established by these sources.

What Alarmo’s software tells us—and what it does not
Alarmo Docs describes Alarmo’s software as C/C++ on FreeRTOS V10.3.1, with much of the device’s main functionality driven by Lua scripts. That provides context for the clock’s software environment, but it does not by itself explain how this Doom port was implemented. The project credits a separate STM32 Doom port and memory-loading work; its repository is the more relevant source for implementation details.
