No. Steam does not currently show profile owners who viewed their profile, provide a named visitor history, or send notifications for ordinary profile visits. You can browse someone’s Steam profile without Steam telling that person which account visited.
This applies to the normal Steam Community experience. Steam can show visible actions such as comments, friend requests, messages, and trade offers, but those are interactions—not proof of a profile visit.

Steam’s official profile and privacy materials do not document a user-facing feature that identifies people who opened a profile. The careful conclusion is that Steam does not expose ordinary profile-view data to profile owners—not that Valve necessarily keeps no internal access logs.

Can Steam show how many times your profile was viewed?
Steam does not currently document or provide a standard profile-view counter. Profile owners cannot reliably see how many people visited, how many times a particular account visited, or when a visit occurred.

A friend request, comment, or trade offer might suggest that someone found your account, but it cannot establish that they viewed your profile first. The person could have discovered you through a game, group, discussion, search result, review, or another Community page.
Do Steam notifications reveal profile visitors?
There is no official notification for an ordinary profile view. Steam may notify you about a comment, friend request, message, group invitation, award, trade offer, or another visible action. Such a notification confirms an interaction, not a hidden profile-view event.
Can third-party apps reveal Steam profile viewers?
Be skeptical of any website, extension, or app claiming to reveal everyone who viewed your Steam profile. Steam’s public profile and API data are not the same thing as a private visitor list. Valve’s Steamworks documentation describes access to community data that may be publicly available, subject to privacy settings; it does not provide evidence that ordinary developers receive a list of profile visitors.

A third-party site may track profiles visited by its own users while they are using that site. That is different from knowing who viewed your Steam profile on Steam. A login page may identify the account being used, but it does not grant access to a hidden Valve visitor log.
- Do not enter your Steam password on an unofficial page.
- Check the domain carefully and use Steam’s official sign-in flow where available.
- Do not install an extension or program merely because it promises hidden visitor data.
- Treat claims of a complete, named Steam viewer list as unsupported unless Valve officially documents such a feature.
Do not assume every third-party service is definitely malware, but Steam does not officially provide the data these services claim to expose. If an account is suspicious, use Steam’s official reporting and anti-phishing guidance.
What can people see on your Steam profile?
Visibility depends on your profile settings and the specific content. Depending on what you allow, other users may see your profile, friends, inventory, game ownership, playtime, recently played information, screenshots, artwork, reviews, guides, showcases, badges, comments, or other Community activity.

Valve explains that some public profile information can be accessed by other players and partners through Steamworks systems, while additional profile information is controlled through your Steam Community privacy settings. The existence of public API access does not mean that developers receive a per-visitor report.
How to change Steam profile privacy settings
- Open Steam and go to your profile.
- Click Edit Profile beneath your displayed badge.
- Select Privacy Settings.
- Choose Public, Friends Only, or Private.
- Adjust individual visibility categories if needed. Steam says the changes save automatically.

What the three settings mean
- Public: Your profile and the categories you leave public can be viewed by other Steam users.
- Friends Only: Many profile sections are limited to accounts you have added as friends, subject to the individual settings.
- Private: This restricts more profile information, including categories such as game details, playtime, and possibly friends or inventory depending on the available controls.
Privacy settings control what visitors can see; they do not create a visitor list or prevent Steam from showing visible actions such as comments or messages. “Private” also does not guarantee complete anonymity. People may still know the account exists, encounter you in a game or Community area, or see content you posted separately in public.

Does changing privacy erase old activity?
Changing your profile visibility generally limits access to profile sections going forward. It does not necessarily remove existing comments, messages, screenshots, artwork, reviews, or posts that were made public separately. It also cannot reliably erase information another person has already seen, copied, or cached elsewhere.
What to do if you are worried about a specific person
If the concern is unwanted contact, block the account and report harassment, scams, or phishing through Steam’s official channels. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, focus on account security rather than trying to identify profile viewers: review your account details and sign-in activity, change credentials if necessary, and use Steam Guard.
