No verified application for a Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 alpha test is established by the official sources cited here. The game launched on November 19, 2024, so the “apply now” claim should not be treated as a current sign-up offer. Xbox Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead are separate, invite-only Xbox system-preview programs—not applications to test Flight Simulator.
Is there an MSFS 2024 alpha application?
The official sources cited here do not verify an open or invite-only application for a Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 alpha. They also do not establish an MSFS alpha’s eligibility rules, dates, or whether participation would be free. That does not prove no historical test ever existed; it means there is no substantiated current application route in these sources.
Microsoft announced that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 became available on November 19, 2024. The announcement describes the released game, not an alpha sign-up: Xbox Wire: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is Available Now.
Why Xbox Alpha invitations are not an MSFS test
An Xbox Wire article dated May 22, 2023 discusses Xbox Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead. These are invite-only Xbox Update Preview rings, and invited participants manage their ring through Xbox Insider Hub. The article is about previewing Xbox system updates, not testing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Its invitation process and selection factors therefore do not establish a way to apply for an MSFS alpha: Xbox Wire: A New Round of Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead Invitations.

Do not register for an Xbox Insider ring on the assumption that it grants access to an MSFS game test. If a purported application link appears, check that it is published through an official Microsoft or Flight Simulator channel and specifically identifies a current Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 test. The sources cited here do not provide such a link.
What access to the released game does Microsoft describe?
The launch announcement describes several editions and says the Standard Edition is available through Game Pass. It lists these edition differences:
