You can’t enable 120 FPS in Roblox on Xbox through a documented setting. Roblox’s support instructions describe graphics-quality controls, not an Xbox frame-rate switch or a 120 FPS guarantee. Xbox Series X|S can support up to 120 FPS in compatible games, but that console capability does not establish that Roblox renders at that rate. Roblox’s official help pages cited here do not confirm the game’s exact current Xbox frame-rate cap.
Why a 120 Hz screen does not guarantee 120 FPS
Hertz (Hz) describes how often a TV or monitor can refresh its image; frames per second (FPS) describes how many frames a game renders. A 120 Hz display can show a game running at 120 FPS, but the game must support that frame rate. Microsoft describes Xbox Series X|S as supporting up to 120 FPS, while its developer guidance treats high frame rates as a capability games must implement (Xbox Wire’s 2020 technology glossary; Microsoft’s game-publishing documentation).
So a 120 Hz indicator on your TV, or a 120 Hz output setting on the console, does not prove Roblox is producing 120 distinct frames per second. High-refresh hardware can be useful with compatible games, but the cited documentation does not say it unlocks 120 FPS in Roblox.
What the Roblox graphics setting can do
Roblox Support documents automatic and manual graphics-quality modes. In an experience, open the menu, choose Settings, set Graphics Mode to Manual, then move the Graphics Quality slider left to favor performance. Roblox describes this as a graphics-quality adjustment—not an FPS unlock or promise of a particular frame rate (Roblox Support: Graphics Quality).

- Open the Roblox in-experience menu.
- Select Settings.
- Choose Manual for graphics mode.
- Move Graphics Quality left to favor performance.
If an experience feels slow, lowering graphics quality may help performance, but it cannot be relied on to change a game-side frame-rate limit.
What is—and is not—confirmed about Roblox’s Xbox frame-rate cap
The official Roblox help pages cited here do not state Roblox’s exact current Xbox frame-rate cap or announce an Xbox 120 FPS mode. A September 2026 Roblox Developer Forum feature request says its author understood console frame rate to be capped at 60 FPS, but that is a community member’s assertion, not official confirmation (Roblox Developer Forum). It would therefore be inaccurate to present 60 FPS as Roblox’s officially confirmed Xbox cap based on these sources.

- Check the Xbox display settings to see the output refresh rate selected for your screen; treat that as the console’s output mode, not a measurement of Roblox’s rendered FPS.
- Do not rely on a TV or monitor’s 120 Hz label or indicator as proof that Roblox is running at 120 FPS.
- Use Roblox’s manual graphics-quality slider only to adjust graphics in favor of performance; it is not a documented console FPS control.
Should you buy a monitor, cable, or accessory to get 120 FPS in Roblox?
Not for this purpose. A high-refresh display and a compatible connection can support high-refresh output in games that implement it, but the cited sources do not show that buying one enables 120 FPS in Roblox. No hardware purchase is established as a fix for the game-side support question.

There is no reliable support in the cited sources for developer mode, modified clients, unofficial tools, or third-party “FPS unlockers” as safe or effective ways to enable 120 FPS in Roblox on Xbox. Stick to Roblox’s documented graphics settings and the console’s normal display options.
