Yes. Amazon Prime members can claim some downloadable games, but those claims are not automatically Steam games—and claiming a game does not guarantee it will run on a Steam Deck. The claim destination, offer availability and Deck compatibility vary by title. Prime also includes a separate rotating selection of games for cloud play on Amazon Luna; those are not a downloadable Deck library.
What Prime Gaming gives you: game claims and Luna access
Amazon describes two distinct gaming benefits. Some Prime Gaming offers are downloadable games that members can claim to keep. Separately, Prime members can access a rotating selection of games included with Prime on Amazon Luna, Amazon’s cloud gaming service. The distinction matters: claiming a downloadable offer gives you access through the offer’s specified storefront or app, while Luna access is cloud play from a changing catalog. Amazon’s October 2025 announcement describes both benefits; Amazon’s Games at Amazon page currently describes the rotating Luna selection.
Do Prime Gaming games go to Steam?
Not necessarily. Amazon’s October 2025 offer examples included GOG codes, Epic Games Store claims, Amazon Games App offers and legacy game codes. Those examples show that the redemption destination can vary; they do not establish a Steam license. Check the individual offer’s claim instructions and the account or storefront where the game will be delivered. If Steam is not listed as the destination, do not expect the claim to add the game to your Steam library.
Can you play Prime Gaming games on Steam Deck?
Sometimes, potentially, but it depends on the specific game and how it is distributed. Valve says SteamOS is Linux-based and uses Proton to run many Windows games. SteamOS also has a desktop mode where users can install other launchers and software. Valve’s SteamOS FAQ puts it plainly: “No, players can go to desktop mode and install other game launchers and software if they wish.” That describes an option, not a guarantee that a particular launcher will install smoothly or that a particular game will work well. Check the title’s current Steam Deck compatibility information and any launcher requirements before relying on it. Valve’s SteamOS information

Why current offers need checking
Amazon’s October 2025 announcement is useful for understanding the different claim formats, but it is a historical lineup, not a list of games available in October 2026. The current offers, their expiry dates and regional eligibility can change. No title-specific Prime claim is established here as verified on Steam Deck, so check the live offer and compatibility details for the game you want rather than relying on an old lineup or a general promise.
