How do I get mods on RDR2 Xbox Series S?
There is no documented official way to install RDR2 mods directly on an Xbox Series S. Rockstar’s announcement says the Xbox One version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is playable on Series X|S through backward compatibility, rather than describing a separate Series S version or a mod feature. Rockstar’s November 6, 2020 announcement establishes compatibility, not mod support.
This is a practical conclusion from the official material available, not a direct Rockstar statement that specifically says “RDR2 mods are unsupported on Xbox Series S.” The Xbox game listing identifies Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S compatibility, but does not establish a console mod installation feature.
Can you mod RDR2 on Xbox?
For Xbox Series S, the reviewed sources provide no supported installation route. A PC, USB drive, file transfer, or accessory does not turn the Xbox version into a moddable PC installation. Avoid treating unofficial “mod menus,” save-editing instructions, or console modifications as ordinary installation steps: the available sources do not verify them as safe, working, or supported.

Do Nexus Mods work on Xbox Series S?
No. Nexus Mods lists Red Dead Redemption 2 in its mod catalog, which provides a route to mods for the PC game; it does not mean those downloads work on Xbox. A mod made for the PC version cannot simply be copied to Series S or transferred with an Xbox game purchase. Check the individual mod creator’s instructions and compatibility notes when using the PC version.

Rockstar’s minimum PC requirements list Windows 10, an Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX-6300 processor, 8 GB of memory, a listed graphics card, and 150 GB of storage. These are minimum specifications for the PC game, not a recommendation for a specific computer or a guarantee that a particular mod will run.

Does the Series S need a disc to play RDR2?
No. Series S owners need digital access to the game; the console has no disc drive. Rockstar’s backward-compatibility instructions distinguish physical discs for Xbox Series X from digital access on Series X|S. A disc does not provide a way to install mods.
