NVIDIA’s current official information describes six-month access as a paid Performance membership or gift-card duration—not as a free trial. The genuine no-cost option is the standard GeForce NOW Free membership, which does not require a credit card or PayPal account.
What “six months free” usually means
Several pages and posts describe a “six-month free GeForce NOW trial,” but NVIDIA’s current verified pages do not show a universal promotion with those terms. The six-month options NVIDIA currently documents are paid products:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Six months of Performance: listed by NVIDIA at $49.99.
- Six months of Ultimate: listed by NVIDIA at $99.99.
- Six-month Performance gift card: a paid membership gift card, not a free trial.
NVIDIA’s current membership pricing material lists the six-month paid plans, while its gift-card page describes a physical card redeemable for six months of Performance or three months of Ultimate. The relevant gift-card listings are currently marked Sold Out.
The legitimate free option: GeForce NOW Free
If you want to use NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service without paying, sign up for the ordinary Free membership. NVIDIA says you can download the app, sign in, and start the Free membership without adding a credit card or PayPal account. NVIDIA also states that the Free membership itself does not generate charges; you must explicitly upgrade to a paid plan to receive paid-plan benefits.

- HDMI 2.1 cable required (sold separately)

- Watch live TV and access over 800 free channels from Pluto TV, Tubi, and more[3]; if you find an interesting show or movie on your TV, mobile app, or Google search, you can easily add it to your watchlist, so it’s ready when you are[2]
- Up to 4K HDR with Dolby Vision delivers captivating, true-to-life detail[4]; and you can connect speakers that support Dolby Atmos for more immersive 3D sound
This is not six months of premium access. It is an ongoing free membership with the limits and availability NVIDIA assigns to the Free tier. Do not treat it as a hidden six-month Ultimate or Performance trial.
Could a partner promotion provide six months?
A separate, eligibility-based promotion from a hardware maker, retailer, internet provider, carrier, or other partner could theoretically provide a fixed period of access. However, the current verified NVIDIA material does not identify a current product or partner campaign that automatically gives everyone six free months.

That means claims such as “all owners of this laptop,” “every customer of this ISP,” or “anyone with this GPU gets six months free” should not be trusted unless the offer is shown on an official NVIDIA or partner promotion page and includes current eligibility, region, redemption dates, and terms.

Important gift-card restrictions
A gift card can provide paid membership time, but it is not free simply because it is called a gift card. NVIDIA’s current terms include several restrictions:

What to do if a code does not work
First, check that you are using redeem.nvidia.com, that the code is intended for NVIDIA-operated GeForce NOW, and that your account and region meet the promotion’s terms. Do not enter the code on an unofficial “free trial” site or give it to a third party.

Bottom line
You cannot currently claim a verified, universal six-month free GeForce NOW membership directly from NVIDIA. The six-month offers documented by NVIDIA are paid Performance memberships or paid gift cards. For genuinely no-cost access, use the standard GeForce NOW Free membership. If you encounter a six-month promotion, verify that it comes from NVIDIA or a named official partner and check its region, eligibility, expiration date, and plan before redeeming it.
