If you’re trying to install BakkesMod for Rocket League on Epic Games, check the game version first: BakkesMod’s maintainer says it will not work with Rocket League versions released on or after April 28, 2026. Epic also launches the game with Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) enabled by default, and community mods do not run while EAC is on.
Does BakkesMod work with the current Epic Games version of Rocket League?
No. In an announcement dated April 28, 2026, BakkesMod maintainer Bakkes said active development would stop and that BakkesMod “will not work on game versions released on April 28th and later.” The announcement says older versions remain on GitHub for earlier Rocket League versions, but that is not a supported way to use BakkesMod with the current game. Read the maintainer’s announcement.
This means that downloading or reinstalling BakkesMod is not a fix for a current-version compatibility problem. Disabling EAC changes how Rocket League launches; it does not restore BakkesMod compatibility with game versions released from April 28, 2026 onward.
Why won’t BakkesMod inject into Rocket League on Epic?
There are two separate limits to keep in mind:
- EAC is enabled by default on Epic. Epic Games Player Support says Epic Games Launcher always starts Rocket League with EAC enabled. Rocket League’s announcement says community mods will not run while EAC is enabled. Epic’s launch guidance and Rocket League’s EAC announcement explain the restriction.
- BakkesMod is incompatible with later game versions. Turning EAC off does not overcome the maintainer’s April 28, 2026 compatibility cutoff.
So an EAC launch setting can explain why mods generally do not run, but it cannot make BakkesMod work with a Rocket League version released on or after the cutoff.

Can I launch Rocket League without EAC on Epic Games?
Yes. Epic documents an EAC-off launch option for offline matches, training, LAN matches, and replay viewing with custom video tools. EAC is required for online play on PC, so this is not a way to use mods in online matchmaking. The steps below change the anti-cheat launch mode only; they do not make BakkesMod compatible with current game versions.
- Open Epic Games Launcher and select Library.
- Find Rocket League and open its three-dot menu.
- Select Launch without EAC.

- Open Rocket League’s Manage page in Epic Games Launcher.
- Enter
-noeacin the Launch options field. - To launch with EAC again, remove
-noeacfrom the field.

What about older BakkesMod versions?
The maintainer says older versions are available on GitHub for previous Rocket League versions. However, the official sources cited here do not provide or endorse a safe Epic Games rollback procedure. Treat legacy downloads as intended for earlier game versions, not as a current installation fix; this article does not recommend third-party installers or an unsupported rollback.

Are any BakkesMod features built into Rocket League now?
Rocket League’s April 28, 2026 EAC announcement lists native MMR display, Custom Training Randomization, and Free Play Team Colors. These are specific examples of features added to the game, not evidence that every former BakkesMod plugin has a built-in replacement. See the Rocket League announcement.
