Possibly, but there is no reliable general answer: whether a particular single-player mod works depends on the exact game build and the mod. Rockstar does not document or support compatibility with cracked copies. For a supported setup, use an authorized PC copy, and keep mods out of GTA Online.
Can mods work on a cracked copy?
Some Story Mode mods might run on some cracked builds, but that possibility is not a compatibility guarantee. Rockstar’s official pages do not test cracked builds or provide a mod-by-mod compatibility list, so a claim that a particular cracked copy will work—or will not work—with a particular mod is not established.
Rockstar’s PC Story Mode mods guidance, last updated September 15, 2026, points to its Terms of Service, Creator Platform License Agreement, and Mod Guidelines. It does not say cracked copies are authorized or supported.
Story Mode and GTA Online are different cases
Story Mode
Rockstar describes third-party mods as unsupported in its GTA V Legacy launch troubleshooting guidance. It warns that they may interfere with game files and recommends removing mods when troubleshooting a launch failure. That is a support limitation, not proof that every Story Mode mod is prohibited or cannot work.

GTA Online
Do not use mods in GTA Online. Rockstar identifies modding in online games, exploiting online mechanics, manipulating protected game data or code, and interfering with other players’ experience as conduct that can result in account suspension. See Rockstar’s account suspension policy.
Cracked copies, official support, and offline play
Rockstar’s PC system requirements list separate requirements for GTA V Legacy and Enhanced and describe account registration, activation, and periodic entitlement verification for installation and online play. Those stated requirements do not prove that every cracked copy will fail to launch; they do show that Rockstar’s supported route is based on an authorized game entitlement.

Nor does playing Story Mode offline make a copy authorized. Rockstar’s offline-mode instructions apply to a PC copy launched through Rockstar Games Launcher: they begin with signing in and then setting an offline-only launch argument. Rockstar says Story Mode generally does not require an internet connection, though online access, cloud sync, or updates may require one.
For a supported PC copy, Rockstar lists Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online in its official Store. It also explains that a boxed PC activation code entitles the account to access the game, is single-use, and is tied to that account; see its activation guidance. Store editions and availability can change.
