In Civilization VII, single-player can also be played offline on PC, though online multiplayer and some online-only features require an internet connection.
What does solo play in Civilization involve?
Civilization is a turn-based strategy series about guiding a civilization through history and pursuing a path to victory. In a solo game, the other civilizations are controlled by the game rather than by human players.
The Civilization VI official manual describes a standard solo game as a sequence of turns in which you move units, conduct diplomacy, and manage cities. The specific systems vary between entries, but the basic appeal is making strategic decisions at your own pace while competing with the game’s opponents.
Can you play Civilization VII alone or offline?
Yes. Official listings for Civilization VII describe a solo experience as well as online multiplayer. For the PC version, Epic Games Store support says single-player can be played offline against game-controlled opponents.

Offline play on PC does not include online multiplayer or certain online-only functions, including the Progress Screen and achievements. The offline information here is specific to the PC version; do not assume the same connectivity rules apply to every console or edition.
