Arrowhead Game Studios Player Support says Helldivers 2 supports cross-play between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, so players on those platforms can play together. Cross-play does not mean cross-progression or cross-buy: your game progress and purchase do not carry over to another platform.
Which platforms can play together?
Arrowhead’s support article, updated October 7, 2026, names PC, PlayStation, and Xbox as platforms supported for cross-play. A separate FAQ updated September 24, 2026 confirms cross-play and says the game is available on Steam and PlayStation 5, but it does not list Xbox. Because the newer article directly addresses cross-play and explicitly includes Xbox, its platform list is the clearest current statement of cross-play scope; the FAQ’s shorter availability list should not be read as proof that Xbox is excluded.

Does progress transfer between platforms?
No. Cross-play lets players on different platforms join one another; it does not let a player carry the same save or purchase to another platform. Arrowhead says cross-save/cross-progression and cross-buy are unavailable. Its account-linking guidance, updated August 18, 2026, also states that linking Steam and PlayStation Network accounts does not copy game data between the PC and PS5 versions.
How do you add friends on another platform?
Arrowhead’s official FAQ says cross-play can be disabled. When it is enabled, use the game’s social tools to connect with friends:

- While aboard your ship, open the Social tab.
- Search for a player or share your friend code, then use the in-game friend options to send or accept a request.
- Check Friend Requests if an invitation does not appear immediately.
Arrowhead’s August 16, 2026 patch notes recorded an issue in which cross-platform friend invitations might not appear in Friend Requests. That note documents a possible failure, not a universal or confirmed ongoing problem in every current build. If an invite is missing, check for newer support guidance or patch notes.
